Doctor says it's a lack of exercise but I don't know

Hi all

 

So for the past few months I've been feeling really down, low and really negative and agressive on and off for a few months but recently it just won't go away if it does it's just  for a short while. I took the MindSpot test and it said it was pretty high for depression and that I should see my GP. I did and she said it was "lack of exercise" which I don't think it's true because I walk about 15 minutes every day and I still feel like crap after. I don't know what to do, I'm so fed up of feeling so down and tired all the time

Hey @Bec_394, sorry to hear how you've been feeling. It's a really big step to ask for help, so you can be super proud of yourself for reaching out to your GP and here.

While it's true that exercise is part of a solution to negative feelings, it's definitely not the whole thing. It sounds like you didn't really get the response that you were hoping for, and I'd encourage you to try again with a different GP who might be more understanding. The Next Step tool here might be able to provide you with an idea of where to get some better help/support.
