I love travel, and not just overseas travel, even driving down to the coast for the day can fill me with an amazing sense of "Gosh, the world is an amazing place". I'm betting some of you guys must love to travel as well so come and share your adventures! Whether they're past journeys, something you have planned for the future or just pipe-dreams at the moment.
I myself am heading over to Japan and Hong Kong later this year, so bonus points if you can give me cool ideas

I've done a fair bit of travel overseas to countries like Thailand & Bali. About two years ago I actually went three times in one year! I'm planning to do a little bit of travelling WITHIN Australia this year. So much out there to explore!
I'm starting simple - so just a little bit of QLD - but i'm looking forward to the break. The same routine in lilttle ole' melbourne gets boring
Next year my partner and I are looking at going to Europe!

What a nice thread idea. I'm going travelling for music, in winter with a few mates.
We're heading to
- Sydney and NSW Coast
- Margaret River
- Broome and we're also going to check out Karijini National Park while we are up northern WA
- Sunshine Coast//NOOSA
and Byron Bay
HOME!! (hopefully i sleep for a few days straight after all that)
Here's a picture of Karijini National Park, one of my best mates has been there and he described it as an oasis in the desert.
Its about as outback and isolated as it gets. In the middle of nowhere there theres this place thats full of water and absolutely stunning, just looking at the pictures gets me excited to jump off those cliffs into the water.

@j95 Oh that sounds amazing! I wish you all the best and don't forget to take pictures of everything! Even the most mundane things can be worth photographing.
@lanejane good luck in QLD! The place isn't as big as WA but there's still so much! Definitely go to the Gold Coast (Movieworld for the win!)
@KitKat that's so cool! I plan to visit Japan to visit some friends next year. And this thread is also a good idea!
Today I completed one of my dreams and visited Italy. I had my first Italian pizza and a hot chocolate that was like the sauce in the middle of a pudding (so thick and chocolately!). It was only one town but when I do my big tour around Europe I'll be visiting three big cities including the capital! I'm just so excited and happy. Italy has always been really close to me. My love of pasta and pizza and that I've learnt the language for so long too. Definitely a place to go back to!

Woah, @lanejane three times in one year is so much! I'm so jealous of you! Exploring within Australia definitely sounds really exciting though. The other day I saw this overseas travel article about places to travel in Australia and the photographs were absolutely stunning. I couldn't believe it was the same place as where I live.
Where abouts in Europe are you thinking about travelling to though ? That's on my bucket list as well with my partner!
@j95your plans look absolutely amazing!! How long are is your trip going to be ? Karijini National Park looks mindblowingly beautiful!!! That would be such an amazing experience.
@redhead'm so jelly! Where abouts are you visiting in Europe ?
@N1ghtW1ng when you go to Japan, where do you want to visit ? (secretly stealing ideas from you). I'm doing Tokyo > Kyoto > Osaka as my major stops, but also will be visiting (and hopefully at least partially climbing) Mt Fuji, Nara (where all the deers are!) and potentially Hiroshima along with some other mountains and possibly a few islands. I'm a huge fan of Japanese pop-culture so I'm really excited for Tokyo.
And your hot chocolate sounds like the most amazing hot chocolate ever though! I have to admit, I have a soft spot for Italian food too! When I eventually get to Europe I plan to eat my way around Italy.
