Re: Happy & healthy relationships

Yes Learn-to-Fly, we can still give verbal consent and ask our partner during without taking away romance/spontaneity. Like by saying things like "this is really good, I am enjoying this, I like this/I don't like that etc having occasional chats is fine and I think people need to be aware that you can have a talk or laugh etc whilst being intimate with someone. I think when people have been in a long term relationship, it is still important to make sure that the other person doesn't feel like they have to have sex for the 'sake' of it to.

Re: Happy & healthy relationships

If you like someone, always a good idea to talk to them and get to know them. I guess having more and more to do with them is good then it doesn't hurt to have the 'I like you where can you see this going' conversation.

I haven't had to consider that question in over two years, I think if I had to re-enter the dating world I would be needing lots of help, felt very awkward trying to work out what I would do Smiley Happy

If you like someone, what are some ways you can let them know you like them?

I am very upfront, I just tell someone I like them and see where it goes from there onwards.

- ask them out for coffee/hot cholate

- jokingly ask them if they'll be your valentine

- write a write and give it to them

- find a wingman to help you out

- wink at them repeatedly

- spam their Facebook wall with "I love you" messages so the whole world knows

Re: Happy & healthy relationships

I think though some ideas might be:
-making time to hang out
-eye contact
-ask them Qs and get to know them
-make it obvious you like their company...

Fosterthepeople. Love your ideas. The last one is my personal favourite.

Thanks Hayley I absolutely see what you mean, I suppose I wasn't thinking much past the 'yes' aspect of verbal consent
