Re: [Special guest] We're rebuilding, help us make it awesome.

Maybe having something popup like the toolbar that sometimes pops up on the bottom right screen would be good when a GR session or infobus is on?

@RevzZ yeah definitely! Something colourful and attention grabbing would be ideal

@N1ghtW1ng how might we make it clearer which section people should start in?

@VictoriaB with the mobile forums, the first thing is you can't change back in you choose to go into full mode (not without completely closing the browser and then reopening it). Another thing is it doesn't show you unread messages, so you have to check each section.

@May_ I think a way to make them more accessible might be to make the thread text a bit bigger so that it's easier to see under the sub heading. (Does that make sense?)

Re: [Special guest] We're rebuilding, help us make it awesome.

With the website, it is possible to comment on factsheets but they go unnoticed (at least by most forum users) because there doesn't appear to be any clear and easy way to see them without checking the factsheets.

Re: [Special guest] We're rebuilding, help us make it awesome.

I've found that on mobile you can't view latest topics until you go into a subsection (even though it goes from latest reply not newest post) and theres no real 'home' buttom, to go back to a menu, so when you are say in Tough Times, then in Help you have to click that random arrow a million times to go back to the menu, and theres no option for pictures.

@N1ghtW1ng @VictoriaB Adding on that, maybe having something like the nextstep toolbar, which says something like "Unsure of where to post?" with a list of suggestions and then it would direct them to the relevant topic?

Oh that makes sense @N1ghtW1ng, thanks.

Re: [Special guest] We're rebuilding, help us make it awesome.

Is there anything that you find frustrating or confusing about using the ReachOut website or forums that will be important to improve?

  • Typing a reply to a post - why does it open a whole new page with the text box at the top, rather than just have a text box at the bottom of the existing posts that you've just scrolled down to read through? (i.e. why open the thread in a new tab/window when you could have it directly above?)
  • Latest topics/posts - A big quality of life improvement would be to have a latest topics button where you can just see the threads which have been posted in recently, rather than having to open up each subforum and expand the mini latest topics list (which also needs to be sorted with latest post at the top rather than in order of thread creation). Does anyone actually use the latest posts list?
  • Search results - What if you only wanted to search the forums, and not search the whole RO website? The forum results from the search function aren't very detailed (you can't even see when the thread was created without going to it).

Agreed @N1ghtW1ng I'm sure a lot of people have things to share about the fact sheets and the content but nobody to really read the comment
