I agree there's pros and cons to ranking etc. We don't want people to get too focussed on their rank or to put people off posting or make them feel bad for being whatever rank, especially new posters.

What if it was a bit more private? So people just got a personal email/notification for reaching milestones/celebrating achievements??

I'm sorry @loves netball, I didn't mean that. I think a way to use gamification as a way to encourage users when they are getting support.
