Letting the negative self talk go
Yesterday I wrote a post saying how I struggle with saying a lot of negative things to myself and I got a lot of helpful suggestions.
Sometimes challenging my inner bully can be almost impossible, especially in the moment when i'm angry or upset at myself. But there is alternative, recognising that the inner bully is there and giving myself space to recognise it, accept and let it pass.
Have a look at this link where @Kaz-RO explains a bit more of the process.
@Ben-RO suggested that I make a thread so that a few us can work on this together, I know that I find doing things with other people a lot easier.
Hopefully some of you want to work on this too and we'll use this thread to talk about how we're all going with it and post some updates!
Okay! Here's your reminder!
@Bay52VU @j95 also @Bee if you're still online and want to havea go at mindfulness with us, now's a good time to jump on! You will need to install Smiling Mind on your phone 🙂
Excellent ! Heading over to find someowhere comfy in the office. Say when!
Glowing bubbles are weird and i found that meditation weird. But it was still good and I am way more relaxed than i was when i started.
I felt pretty distracted by closing my eyes because i'm the only one in the office and i watched a horror movie last night, but i still managed to relax enough and get into the session that by the time the bubble got to my knees i was feeling pretty chilled out and less distracted by all the things running through my mind.
How do we all feel after doing the session? Was that one easy or hard to do? Why?
Yeah that was odd. How exactly does breathing air into a bubble make it go downwards, and then suddenly reverse so that you can "breathe it upwards" as well? I spent like more than half the time trying to reconcile the physics of it haha.
I'm feeling about the same as before the session.
Ugh me too @Bay52VU. I decided i was a sealed vessel of water in a centrifuge and the bouyancy of the bubble changed based on how i was compressed... and then i wondered if force from centripetal motion had the same effect on bouyancy and then i realised i stopped doing Physics in year 12 and have no idea. Basically lost about 30 seconds thinking all of that 😛
They go IN @Bay52VU! I think i can guess why, because they're less dense than everything else? My theorey might work, just backwards to how i thought...
Anyway, BACK ON TOPIC!
Whos going to be able to make it to the session today? @Bay52VU @j95 @FootyFan26 @Creativegirl12 @ma30n? Anyone else? Let me know and i can remind you 🙂
mum confiscated my phone so ill have to wait :(. i really wanted to join in 😞 😞
