Last night's weird dream...

I don't think there's a topic for this yet, and if there is... oops!

I'll start.

Last night, I had a weird dream where I was outside on the lawn, but I was staying in a hospital or something. Some people were starting to tease me, and I punched one guy in the face. This got me into trouble, but they were known trouble makers, so I didn't get punished. Then I remember being in an airplane, only the inside cockpit looked more like a space ship. I don't really remember it very clearly, as after I woke up, I drifted back off to sleep.

Yeah I always forget my dreams soon afterwards. People say to keep a notebook by the bed so you can remember them, but I always forget to write in it!

I had a couple of really bizarre dreams last week, and some weird deja vu last night, none of which I can now recall.

Re: Last night's weird dream...

So last night I had a few dreams - One of my workmates was yelling at me because I took a really long break and also handle a call wrong and she was so angry when in real life she is such a sweetheart. I think I had this dream because at my other job the supervisor is always picking on me.

Then I had a dream my boyfriend was about to hit me. I think I dreamt about this because I was watching a show where a woman was abused by her husband and it really got to me.

Then I have a few snippets of dreams. Very strange.

This is awesome @tesla-weapon and your dream sounds so vivid, do you know why you would have had that dream?

Usually dreams are very obscure in their meaning and symbolism, taking them literally wont give you the answers you can find from a dream.

Usually violence is about a criticism in your self, and the other details in the dream can point to areas you could use improvement.

Hey @tesla-weapon

That is a really interesting way of seeing dreams. I did a few units in uni where we had to study sleep and dreaming so my understanding of dreams is what is concerning me at the time, what is it that I am repressing and cannot face in reality.

I think it is really interesting how people have so many different perspectives on dreams. Smiley Happy

Re: Last night's weird dream...

I have had in previous years a recurring dream (about once a week for several months) of my youngest brother and I in a dark, abandoned city which was really just huge skyscrapers and footpaths but we were running away from an unnaturally large man in a coat whose face I couldn't see and he had a knife and was going to kill us. Well we were running and trying to keep quiet, but suddenly my brother started yelling and calling to the man to come and get me. After that my brother ran off and I was left with the man then it gets gory because I was then ummm kinda brutally murdered...  and that was how the dream ended every time I had it.

SO yeah. That is one of my weird, recurring dreams. Smiley Frustrated

Re: Last night's weird dream...

For some reason,  @liraeli , I think your dream is very symbolic. Of what, I'm not sure, but it's definitely not literal.

I've had two weird dreams lately. In the first one my ex-landlord/roommate, while smoking a pipe and wearing a smoking jacket and slippers, asked me to procure an illicit substance for him into a large glass vase that was called the "Marquis de Sade". I had to go to a place called "SongX" to get it. On the way, I spoke to two pretty girls in a bar to get directions. Instead of giving me directions, they took me to a room upstairs for hanky-panky, however, once up there they changed their mind and gave me the directions I needed. Then I woke up.

In the second dream I was with my girlfriend visiting some spots in Vancouver where we met. One of the spots was a bus stop near my old apartment where we'd had a chat for a long time one day last year. In the dream, we sat here at the bus stop for a few moments and I tried to propose (marriage) to her, but I couldn't get the words out properly and I was so nervous my hands were shaking. Even worse, I dropped the ring, and I woke up before she answered.

Now I'm worried I talk in my sleep! She and I are planning a trip to Vancouver next weekend and yesterday she mentioned that bus stop as a spot we should visit for old time's sake. Man Surprised

Re: Last night's weird dream...

I dream I'm awake all the time. Sometimes I can dream that I wake up 5 or 6 times before I actually do manage to wake up for real. And even then I have doubts that I am actually awake.

As for waking up tired, you might just be getting poor sleep. I saw a sleep specialist once, and they did tests on me. One of the things they test for is sleep efficiency. How much actual rest you get. Mine was about 60%, which means I have to sleep longer to get enough good sleep.

Exercising during the day can allow you to get better sleep, as can cutting down on caffeine, such as cups of tea or coca cola after 5pm.

My body clock actually runs on a 25 or 26 hour cycle instead of a 24 hour one. This means that I don't fall asleep easily, and I will always want to sleep in past when my alarm goes off. Some people have a shorter sleep cycle, and will fall asleep very early in the night, and wake up very early in the morning. A good way to control it is using bright light in your eyes, to manage the level of melatonin in your body.

If you have trouble with sleep, you should get a referral to a sleep specialist.
