Weekly Wellbeing: Rediscovering an old interest :)

Weekly Wellbeing: Rediscovering an old interest

Time for another Weekly Wellbeing everyone! This one's to do with rediscovering an old interest Smiley Very Happy

When life gets busy, it can be pretty hard to find time to do things we enjoy. It's easy to feel guilty when you're not being productive in certain ways, like studying for uni or doing work, so that when you do have the time to do the things you love, you don't!

Spending time on hobbies though isn't something we should have to feel guilty about, it's a way of investing in ourselves and our interests Heart

So for this week I'm challenging us (yes, challenging Smiley Tongue) to take the time out to spend time on hobbies/interests that we've dropped Smiley Very Happy

Some examples are:

  • finishing a book/tv series that you didn't finish
  • listening to old bands that you used to love
  • studying a language you've always wanted to learn but struggle to find time for
  • going to the gym if you had a fitness goal for yourself
  • doing something crafty
  • going birdwatching -the sky's the limit!

I'm planning on spending a lot more time reading for pleasure, how about you guys? Smiley Very Happy

Do you have any hobbies you haven't been able to spend a lot of time on lately?
What ways can you spend a little time during the week doing things you love?

Re: Weekly Wellbeing: Rediscovering an old interest :)

@ecla34 Another great weekly wellbeing topic! With how busy our lives can get, it really is difficult to get back into the hobbies that we love to do, especially when we just want to relax

Do you have any hobbies you haven't been able to spend a lot of time on lately?

Recently I haven't been playing a lot of piano, neither have I been doing any drawing for the past few months.

What ways can you spend a little time during the week doing things you love?

Just putting aside a few minutes, even just 10 minutes a day can help me get into the habit of regularly doing something I that I love, like playing the piano.

Re: Weekly Wellbeing: Rediscovering an old interest :)

@drpenguin 10 mins a day sounds like a really manageable and gentle way of getting back into a hobby! Rather than trying to spend 2 hours practicing and then being exhausted and not coming back to it for a long time Smiley LOL
I've been working my way up by reading a short story each day for the past little bit, to get back in the habit of reading Smiley Happy
