Sorry to hear that you had unpleasant dreams...

How did your shift go yesterday @mspaceK?

I hope you enjoyed the wedges!! Smiley Happy

Re: What did you do (or going to do) today?

I know this is about what I did yesterday and not today but I just have to share it! We had an 'unbirthday' party with cake, sweets, balloons, candles, music, etc., to celebrate a fictional character's birthday. We played board games and party games on the Switch all night. It was the best! It really cheered us up. I'm still tired from it.

Tomorrow, my sister has to go to hospital as an outpatient, which I'm not looking forward to because it takes a whole ambulance crew to get her out of the house and back in again and she screams in pain the whole time. I'm hoping I can ask some questions about her treatment though.

Re: What did you do (or going to do) today?

That sounds so tough to get through
@WheresMySquishy.
I hope it goes ok!

Re: What did you do (or going to do) today?

Okay - so I managed to get through my work shift today but I was sick again during all my breaks. I basically held everything in and troopered on through my shift and now that I am home I have planted myself on the toilet. Yuck! This was the same for me yesterday @letitgo Smiley Sad

The wedges were so damn good! I don't care if my stomach cannot digest properly right now - they were so yummy and the highlight of my day so far! @xXLexi_Lou122Xx

@WheresMySquishy This thread is about posting what you either "plan to do" today or what "you have done" today - not yesterday! That party and games sounds like so much fun and well deserved. I'm sending love for your sibling <3

Re: What did you do (or going to do) today?

My family and I spent the entire day dealing with an incompetent ambulance service and hospital. We filled in forms for the appointment earlier this month and had called weeks in advance to book the ambulance transfer for my sister as one of her specialists wanted to see her in person at the hospital and refused to come to our house. The ambulance people told us to have her ready at 12:30pm for a 2pm appointment. So we woke up early and got her ready as it takes at least an hour for her to get ready due to her mobility problems and she is dependent on us for care. 1pm came and there was still no ambulance crew, so we called them. They said they were coming in fifteen minutes. They did not arrive until 2:30pm. By then, my sister was crying in pain from having to wait for so long as it hurts to have her legs bent. We called the hospital and they said that they would wait until 3:30pm but after that they had to go home. Two ambulance crews came because the first crew decided that they couldn't do it alone. They got her into the 'stair chair' to transfer her when at the last minute, one of them said that she didn't feel comfortable moving her because she was a 'small woman'. We offered to help but then they said 'If something happens to you, we will lose our jobs.' This is despite the fact that previously when we booked an outpatient appointment for her, it only required one ambulance crew of two people with us helping. They wanted to send in a third ambulance crew and transfer her in a sheet. We told them this had been done before and it wasn't safe. It was now 3pm and by the time the third crew arrived, it would have been almost 3:30pm. So we ended up having to cancel an appointment we desperately needed so that her doctor could find out which medications to put her on, which we had already waited two and a half months for. My sister was left screaming and crying in pain. We ended up telling the hospital that it is too much of a hassle for us to keep taking her as an outpatient. She really needs to be treated as an inpatient but the hospital keeps delaying her admission. It was also the ambulance service's fault as they clearly were not prepared for the job despite her details being in the system from us using their service before. We also found out that no one from the hospital can see her at our home for another two weeks.

All in all, it was a very frustrating day. Hope everyone had a better day than us, even if it was just by a little bit.

Re: What did you do (or going to do) today?

Oh wow @WheresMySquishy . That is so awful on their part and I am so sorry that your sister had to go through all that pain. That is incredibly unfair and it must have been mentally draining. Smiley Sad

Are you able to do any self care activities tonight? You've had a pretty tough day Smiley Sad

Re: What did you do (or going to do) today?

Yeah, it was pretty bad. I have no idea why four people could not transfer her from the house to the ambulance when two people easily could previously and wrote how they did it in her notes. I think one of the crew panicked at the last minute and decided that they didn't want to do it all of a sudden. I think they also 'forgot' that we had a booking with them and we had to remind them when they didn't show up. And they didn't know how to operate the chair they were using to transfer her and how to buckle her into it safely so it makes me wonder why the ambulance service sent those people in the first place. The people who did it before were confident in using the equipment and it didn't take long. I think some crews are good and some seem to be incompetent. I think we would have done a better job transferring her from ourselves. My sister is pretty disappointed and sore. It was very traumatic for her. Smiley Sad Ambulance services these days...

We opened and used some things we received over the weekend afterwards so that was fun! And I played a game on my 3DS. Smiley Happy
