'circuit-breaker' lockdown check-in
Hey to all those living in Victoria! I know for myself, the news of lockdown has made me slightly more anxious than usual, and I just wanted to check in with everyone 🙂
How are y'all doing? How has the first day of lockdown been for everyone?
For myself, I've been trying to organize my school-work to ensure I won't be behind on anything, and making sure to arrange time to talk with friends in the next few days, as I won't be able to see them. I did watch Kung Fu Panda today, so that was nice.

Hi, thanks so much for checking in. Living in Victoria right now is tough right now for sure. I have been doing alright, didn't have much planned for the weekend personally. I hope everyone finds something to do to live their spirits during this lockdown.
It sure is definitely hard, especially with all the uncertainty.
Last lockdown, I found it quite fun to organise a games/movie night with my friends through zoom, I definitely would like to do that too again.
Let me know, if you find anything that helps you with the lockdown! And hats off to your strength 🙂
Hello our lovely Victorians!
I hope you all have been doing okay during the lockdown for the past 4 days. I can imagine how hard the uncertainty of everything has been on you all, but seeing this post and all the lovely comments and ideas that you had planned is admiring!
@tessy1824 I hope you have been working through your school stuff! Have you had any time to organise your games/movie nights on zoom? Such an awesome idea! Also super exciting that your birthday is coming up on Thursday
@A_Friend @Saltwaterdreamtime Also wondering how you both are doing? I hope that the weekend brought some enjoyable family/self care time
@Kaylee-RO Well I hope they tell us today if it’s going to go longer or not because I’m about to lose my shit so yeah, please don’t be longer
To be honest, I was procrastinating for quite a bit. but last night I finally got everything together, in fact am ahead with my work at the moment. So yay me! It's great since I feel less stressed and I guess I'm goin to try to make the most of lockdown.
The game night flopped, only had two people turn up to the zoom. but we just vibed to music so it was still quite fun.
@tessy1824 Ahh procrastination, the complete time thief ! It is great to hear that you're ahead with your work at the moment, one less thing to worry about!
Aw that still sounds super fun, it would have been good just vibing out with some friends Do you have any plans for today?
@Saltwaterdreamtime I hope they give you a positive response today as well. Are you doing anything nice in the meantime? Does your little man have any crazy adventures to drag you into
Manifesting some good news for all of our Victorian friends today! I feel like today is going to be a good day. Started the day off with a dawn beach visit, I hope you can find something to do today an hopefully in just a couple of hours we can all say “We made it!!” for the 3rd time!!
Good Morning @Saltwaterdreamtime!
It was such a relief to hear the morning show announce the news this morning, my happiness definitely directed straight to you!
It sounds like you had a fantastic morning, I think a dawn beach visit can always make any day a good day! All you Victorians have definitely gone through some tough times but your strength to be experiencing and making it through for the 3rd time is inspiring
Wishing you the best for the rest of the day!
@Kaylee-RO We are very happily watching the press conference in our house at the moment. The same restrictions as before lockdown essentially, but only 5 people to your house and 20 people in public which might change next Friday. We were just living in limbo not knowing if and when we could have our family meet our new baby whenever that is, I worried it could be months. We are so happy. I can go to work.
No just home today, everyday is a wild adventure when you are stuck at home with a 3 year old who literally just asked for food and then took it outside and tipped the entire lunch box on the ground to feed the birds and now is asking for more food @Kaylee-RO
We are all going insane. Please please please end lockdown.
@tessy1824 That sounds super lovely! I hope you enjoy your day
@Saltwaterdreamtime hahaha aw the love of children! Going to have yourselves some pet birds soon . Sorry to hear that their is no news yet, hoping you're staying positive with the low case numbers, hopefully it is all over tomorrow!
Yeah we were hoping in the presser today they would tell us but didn’t @Kaylee-RO
It might seem not that bad to some people because it’s only 5 days but I’m pretty sure everyone in this house has cried at least once in the last 24 hours. If it was just a 5 day lockdown and we didn’t have other things on top of it to worry about, and things coming up in the near future that are dependent on if this lockdown eases than it might not be so bad. I was also going to do a little project today but Bunnings is 6.2 km away so I can’t do a click and collect.
The “5km from home” website is telling me that half of the Bunnings car park is within my 5km radius...
Can anyone who’s done stage 4 lockdown confirm whether or whether or not sirens will sound and Dan will chase me if I accidentally go over my border...
@Saltwaterdreamtime I'm not sure, but I know someone who has breached multiple times and has not been caught
My reply was a bit of joke, I know Dan Andrews won’t chase me with a stick if I go 5.2 km from home haha
Apart from online school...no. But I'm planning on finishing my school-work early and maybe watching a movie with my siblings 🙂
Thanks @tessy1824 for the post and for checking-in with everyone.
I'm okay. All of my social plans have been cancelled this weekend but at least I get to catch up on uni work!
It's really great that you're taking a proactive approach to managing your school work load - I'm sure your parents/guardians/teachers would be super proud of you for that. Seriously, fingers crossed it lasts 5 days... and that you are back at school again super quick!
I'm not used to hearing words of praise or people telling me that they're proud of me, so it was beautiful hearing that.
It's wonderful to see that you've been able to catch up with your uni work!
I agree hopefully it's only five days, I want to be able to go out for my birthday on the Thursday...but we'll see.
