'circuit-breaker' lockdown check-in

Hey to all those living in Victoria! I know for myself, the news of lockdown has made me slightly more anxious than usual, and I just wanted to check in with everyone 🙂

How are y'all doing? How has the first day of lockdown been for everyone?

For myself, I've been trying to organize my school-work to ensure I won't be behind on anything, and making sure to arrange time to talk with friends in the next few days, as I won't be able to see them.  I did watch Kung Fu Panda today, so that was nice.

Hi, thanks so much for checking in. Living in Victoria right now is tough right now for sure. I have been doing alright, didn't have much planned for the weekend personally. I hope everyone finds something to do to live their spirits during this lockdown.

It sure is definitely hard, especially with all the uncertainty.

Last lockdown, I found it quite fun to organise a games/movie night with my friends through zoom, I definitely would like to do that too again.

Let me know, if you find anything that helps you with the lockdown! And hats off to your strength 🙂

To be honest, I was procrastinating for quite a bit. but last night I finally got everything together, in fact am ahead with my work at the moment. So yay me! It's great since I feel less stressed and I guess I'm goin to try to make the most of lockdown.

The game night flopped, only had two people turn up to the zoom. but we just vibed to music so it was still quite fun.

@Kaylee-RO We are very happily watching the press conference in our house at the moment. The same restrictions as before lockdown essentially, but  only 5 people to your house and 20 people in public which might change next Friday. We were just living in limbo not knowing if and when we could have our family meet our new baby whenever that is, I worried it could be months. We are so happy. I can go to work.

No just home today, everyday is a wild adventure when you are stuck at home with a 3 year old who literally just asked for food and then took it outside and tipped the entire lunch box on the ground to feed the birds and now is asking for more food @Kaylee-RO

We are all going insane. Please please please end lockdown.

Yeah we were hoping in the presser today they would tell us but didn’t @Kaylee-RO
It might seem not that bad to some people because it’s only 5 days but I’m pretty sure everyone in this house has cried at least once in the last 24 hours. If it was just a 5 day lockdown and we didn’t have other things on top of it to worry about, and things coming up in the near future that are dependent on if this lockdown eases than it might not be so bad. I was also going to do a little project today but Bunnings is 6.2 km away so I can’t do a click and collect.

The “5km from home” website is telling me that half of the Bunnings car park is within my 5km radius...

Can anyone who’s done stage 4 lockdown confirm whether or whether or not sirens will sound and Dan will chase me if I accidentally go over my border...

@Saltwaterdreamtime I'm not sure, but I know someone who has breached multiple times and has not been caught

My reply was a bit of joke, I know Dan Andrews won’t chase me with a stick if I go 5.2 km from home haha

Thanks @tessy1824 for the post and for checking-in with everyone.

I'm okay. All of my social plans have been cancelled this weekend but at least I get to catch up on uni work!

It's really great that you're taking a proactive approach to managing your school work load - I'm sure your parents/guardians/teachers would be super proud of you for that. Seriously, fingers crossed it lasts 5 days... and that you are back at school again super quick!

I'm not used to hearing words of praise or people telling me that they're proud of me, so it was beautiful hearing that.

It's wonderful to see that you've been able to catch up with your uni work!

I agree hopefully it's only five days, I want to be able to go out for my birthday on the Thursday...but we'll see.

Yeah not doing so great... felt miserable and spent most of yesterday in bed knowing a lockdown was looming (I read way too many social media pages and news articles and get caught up in it all). I spent most of today miserable and again really didn’t want to get out of bed, it was midday when my young one came in (I think he may have been sent in by my partner) and asked why am I sad and said we could watch Park Rangers together. Having a cuddle next to him watching him enjoying his absolute favourite show and laughing the whole time made me feel better. Then we got dressed and went for a walk, don’t tell Dan, but I didn’t wear my mask out walking 🤣

Welcome back!
