Hang  out with them I am sure they will make you welcome. I recently moved schools and it is a massive school because it is a college. I got assigned a very friendly and caring buddy and she took for a tour around the school,introduced me to my teachers, told me how to use the diary, the rules, showed me my timetable and much more. So do not worry you will get a buddy and I am sure they will be caring.
