Re: A,B,C is easy as 1,2,3.

What can be difficult or trying about learning new things?

- making mistakes

- comfortable in my comfort zone

- just putting things off

- you think you're done learning

- not sure where to start how to approach learning

- not use to learning something "that" way

like how people have different ways of learning that works for them

a one size fits all isn't for everyone

Re: A,B,C is easy as 1,2,3.

WHAT WE LEARNT ON TONIGHTS GETTING REAL SESSION....

Heres a little recap!

Tell us about a significant learning experience you have had. Why was/is this experience important to you?

Everyone had fantastic learning experiences that they considered significant. Here was a recap on some of the experiences people shared tonight….

  • Thirteen years of school or university– apart from the school work, you learnt about peer interaction along the way. Formal education was important for some people to be where they are in life today.
  • Being diagnosed with an illness.
  • Moving away from home or spending time away from home.
  • Loosing a loved one or a relationship that changes.
  • Learning to do things for yourself.
  • Learning to become familiar with things rather than constantly seeking change .
  • Significant learning experiences are sometimes related to change, a challenge, learning more about yourself or others and stepping out of our comfort zones.

What is one of the easiest things you can recall learning?

-          Learning to compose music.

-          Learning martial arts.

-          Tying show laces.

-          Brushing teeth.

-          Learning that nothing ends – everything changes into a different form

-          Learning the meaning to ones life.

-          Skipping.

-          Learning how to colour in.

-          Learning to use a fork.

What is one of the most challenging/difficult/frustrating things you recall learning?

-          Watching someone else’s difficult journey can be a challenging thing to learn about even if you only witness it.

-          Moving on from the past.

-          Learning a new language.

-          Managing mood and emotions.

-          Science subjects – or being in an environment where people do not want to help you.

-          Getting involved in new relationships.

-          Learning to run so consistently.

-          What other people think about you doesn’t really matter.

-          Some people will never like you (high school identities don’t end up mattering as much as we think).

What is something you have always wanted to learn?

-          Learning first aid

-          Shirt or clothes designing.

-          Magic.

-          Circus skills.

-          To drive.

What can be difficult or trying about learning new things?

- making mistakes

- comfortable in my comfort zone

- just putting things off

- you think you're done learning

- not sure where to start how to approach learning

- not use to learning something "that" way

- making a fool of yourself.

- it is hard to keep trying if the first time at something is hard.

- over coming the fear.

Thanks so much for participating tonight everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed reading and learning about others experiences J
