Who could you talk to about depression? What kinds of help are available?

 

 

  • Helplines 
  • My GP on campas
  • Psychiatrist at Headspace
  • A friend who experienced it before
  • another friend who is willing to listen

There is SO much help available. Key ones include Kids Help Line (1800 551 800), Life Line (13 11 14), eHeadspace (http://www.eheadspace.org.au ) and BeyondBlue (http://www.beyondblue.com.au ). 

 

But there is also your GP, school/uni/tafe counsellor, a teacher or lecturer, a friend or family member, pastor, or a psychologist/counsellor etc. The list is the endless! Smiley Happy

Who could you talk to
- Friends
- Family
- Someone you trust
- GP
- Counsellor / Pysch
- Help Lines Eg. KidsHelp Line, EHeadpsace, LifeLine, Sucide Callback ect.


Help available
- Counsellors / Pysch's
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
- Mediacation (If needed)

I'm sure there are more? That's all that springs to mind right now.

Exercise regularly
Take time out for yourself, to unwind and de-stress
Surround yourself with positive relationships (family, friends, partners)
Talk to someone if you're feeling overwhelmed and stressed out

hmmm.. yep all those things, avoiding too much sugar and processed foods, regular sleeping pattern, socialising, hugs, relaxing/de-stressing....

All of mine have already been suggested! Eating, exercising and sleeping well are my main ones. As well as spending time with animals, taking time out to do the things I enjoy, finding ways to destress!
