Re: Schools OUT & Schoolies is IN

Great tips guys. I'll have to remember them for my next night out or holiday.

Re: Schools OUT & Schoolies is IN

What are some ideas to have a schoolies experience in celebration for leaving school?

I agree , camping is a really good one. But being 'out bush' is second nature for people in my town, that's probably why most of us went on holidays to fiji or nz (and cheap places like that)

What kind of rules/plans have you made with your friends on schoolies?

I know that a big one for us was to keep an eye out on, not only your friends, but other people in our year. We were all there for eachother and that's really important. Also, if going to schoolies or something, if you get seperated, have a meeting spot or a phone on you at all times.

But I think looking out for friends is a really important one

Ohh yes mixing drugs and alcohol is an important one to think about!!

Excellent ways to ensure your celebrations are as fun, yet safe as possible.

However I thought it wouls be worthy to discuss

So many things, you see it all the time on the news.... people getting so wasted that they partake in really stupid things (like climbing over balconies). I imagine things like drink spiking would be huge (I mean, someone's drink got spiked at a party I went to for end of exams and there was only people we knew there. It was so scary!!). Trying drugs gone wrong, overdoses, getting lost, breaking laws, abuse, fights, argh.

The parties must be good to overlook all of that D:

Friends getting really drunk (and getting sick), drinks getting spiked, sexual assault, accidents (like falling off balconies - that's all over the news in QLD atm), drug overdoses, personal belongings being stolen, fights... I'm not sure what else

Re: Schools OUT & Schoolies is IN

- Overdose
- Rape
- Alcohol poisoning
- Getting lost
- Alcohol related violence
- Alcohol related accidents

They must be dreamcatcher!

But sometimes people live by the 'it won't happen to me'.

I guess we can all try to be as safe as possible but it is hard (or impossible) to control the behaviour of those around us.

Sometimes that is why people find themselves in a tough/unsafe/regretful situation.

5. What are some of the things that could go wrong on schoolies?

- you could be ashamed of your actions.

- loss of dignity

- making un-informed decisions

- long term damage to health (e.g. physical, psychological).
