Yeah. I'm the fence sitter here, I agree with it but think that you should have regrets to get rid of. If that makes sense 😛

Good night all and thanks for the awesome chat! So glad I could make it! ❤️ love you all. Hugs all round.

It's okay to be divided, that's what being human is all about! Everyone can have different opinions, it makes things interesting 😛 haha

But I def agree that it is still ok to feel regret, you shouldn't feel bad if you feel regret. Everyone is different 🙂

Really awesome chat tonight guys, summing up on the points that were made today:

  • We asked what are regrets and what do they feel like. Most of the time they’re actions or experiences where we wish we hadn’t done or had done differently and there can be feelings of irritation, guilt, shame and embarrassment.
  • The reason we have regrets is to learn and gain knowledge. It represents a ‘learning curve’ in our life.
  • We asked whether regrets are bad and the consensus was that even though the action of the regret may be bad, regret itself as a learning tool is not. It just reminds us to make sure to not make the same mistake!
  • Everyone was opening up about their regrets and what they’ve learnt from it. And that’s really the most important thing, is that we learn from our regrets.
  • Learning from our regrets and asking questions like ‘how will my actions impact myself and those around me’ helps improve our moral compass. It makes us more positive, compassionate and kinder beings.
  • Regrets become unhealthy when we dwell on them for too long, without doing anything to change it. Unable to forgive ourselves and learn from our mistakes.
  • Some healthy ways to cope is to give ourselves time, positive honest self-talk, forgiving ourselves and learning from the event, taking a step back and re-evaluating, ask ‘what would I tell a friend in this situation’ and don’t be afraid to talk to someone about it.
  • Some things we can do to help someone who is really bogged down by regret is to remind them to forgive themselves, give them our time and be there for them, engage in an activity to get our minds off things.
  • But even saying that, sometimes the regret will have to sit with us for a while for us to truly learn and become a wiser, stronger version of ourselves.

Thank you guys for participating in tonight’s Getting Real Session, we had some very sweet moments being open about ourselves. Remember to tune in for next week! Goodnight!

Given what we have talked about so far, how do you feel about the current trend of ‘no regrets’?

I don't like this idea of 'no regrets'.  In my opinion, regrets are there to guide us.  I think a better mantra would be to live a full life, and take advantage of the opportunities that come your way.

Sometimes, we should feel regret.  In my opinion, it is important to be honest with ourselves

I see where your coming from @tsnyder I guess regrets does have a place in terms of learning boundaries etc.

I think another emphasis would be not to dwell on those few regrets that we have

Do some travel, get out there!

The adventure is out there! -Up

The trend 'no regrets' is cool. But I think that it should come from moving past/forgiving/accepting your past regrets to havr no regrets. As opposed to having no regrets.

Sounds awesome! South America is on my next agenda!

I feel like I agree with the no regrets! Everything that happens happens for a reason and I think it teaches you something! And things such as traveling and stepping out of your comfort zone, they are definitely things I would say NO REGRETS too !!!

I agree no regrets is a good philosophy. It encourages moving on and acceptance and learning from your experiences. Many of the bad experience even make us a stronger person 🙂

I think it depends on what you use the trend for. I generally use it with my social anxiety. So for me, it is a good thing.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: It didn't go as planned and that's okay. ツ
