[CHAT]: Self-love

Let's be real, self-love is super hard.
In a world where it's way too easy to feel like you're not good enough, getting to a place where you feel satisfied with your body or personality can often be a huge struggle. However, giving yourself care and attention is one of the best things you can possibly do for your mental health! It's been shown to alleviate stress, improve confidence and positively affect the relationships between you and those around you.
So join us on Monday, 14th August at 7:30pm AEST to talk about self-love: what it means to us, what it means to practice it and what some strategies are that we can use to feel as fabulous on the inside as we all are on the outside
Hope to see you there! 🙂

In the spirit of self-love, name 5-10 things you love about yourself, or things about yourself that you find awesome.A tricky question for many of us no doubt! Hmm...
1. I care a lot about other people, social justice issues and want to help make the world a better place
2. I am really into organisation and planning
3. I try really hard to avoid judging other people and when I do make judgements I try to question them and break them down
4. I am pretty open minded and want to experience as many things as possible and learn all the things
5. I invest a lot of time appreciating things other people have made - music, films, tv shows, paintings, photography, buildings, gardens, etc
6. I like expressing myself through my quite particular style in clothes, interior design, etc

Oooh, I like this challenge!
1. I like the fact that I've never given up on myself - my resilience
2. In terms of physical things, I like the length of my hair
3. And its colour
4. My desire to help others as much as I can
5. That I can read and discuss a variety of books.

@Ben-RO yes we definitely should! 😛But yes I have tried doing it digitally! I used to use something called PasswordPad or something similar to that. I think digital would definitely work better for some people! I just personally got too paranoid about someone finding it whereas if it is written I know it is in my room so probably more safe 🙂

Also watching tacky tv shows to chillout and have some time to not think is a good act of self love. The main reasoning behind this is because you need to be able to do things that you enjoy, but aren't necessarily productive without feeling guilty about not being productive. Guilt is the enemy of self love!

Naps are my type of self love. You recharge your phone when the battery is running low, so why not recharge your body?
Naps make me feel like I can tackle the world again.
