All good @LeoTheLion sometimes we don't know how we did something and that's okay 🙂

@mrmusic good scenery is nice, but then if it's pretty I want to stop and take a photo LOL My desire for photography can be annoying like that haha
That is annoying about your cd player, I had to replace mine a few years ago, so I bought a new aftermarket one and now have everything I will ever need 😛

@scared01 yes sometimes just driving for the sake of it can be awesome 🙂

Yes @Bee, it is annoying like that, but at least you know approximately where the good scenery is for next time! 🙂

@scared01 yep can be great just driving without needing to be somewhere.

@mrmusic if I have my camera I stop anyway 😛 haha

Absolutely! @scared01

4. What are some ways you can stay focused when you are driving for long periods of time?
I like to listen to music and sing, not only does it relax me, but it keeps me from being bored. Otherwise, I like to talk to people who I'm travelling with 🙂
I find it helps me keep focused and alert during driving.

I agree with you @Bee however i find if i need to concentrate  say through  an accident or really heavy traffic i will keep music on but quieter otherwise it gets  abit overwhelming

4. What are some ways you can stay focused when you are driving for long periods of time?

Probably having regular drinks of water, or some other drinks (not coffee or soft drinks), and regular rest breaks (so taking the photo isn’t a bad idea @Bee!). Definitely having music is good as it gives me something to listen to - as long as its not too loud as it can be overwhelming and distracting then.

Alright so seems all of us who are posting drive frequently, and this next one is all about the amazing.... dreaded driving tests

5. How do/did you cope/manage your nerves around/during driving tests? Did you pass first go or did you have multiple attempts? If you failed your driving test how did you stay motivated to keep going?

I told myself that I could do it and that I knew what I was doing, which I did. They told me I was quietly confident and a safe driver, but then failed me -.- it was disheartening and I totally felt it was so unfair, especially when the person testing me said I didn't respond to a hazard, which was actually my friend on the road! But I was so determined to get my licence so I guess that kept me motivated to continue driving and learning 🙂

I ended up going to the next town and passed. They said they didn't know why I failed.

Hey guys, just about to wrap up very soon, but one last question:

Oh dear yes I do. I remember going on a drive with my mum when I was still learning, and mum told me to slow to 40 km/h for roadworks, even though all the roadworks were gone and the 40km/h signs were covered up! Well, you can imagine the honking and other gestures we got! Funny now looking back on it. 😄

I was very nervous during both of my tests - I failed the first time. I was definitely a little calmer the second time, because I already knew what it was like, but still quite nervous. Because I failed as a result of a silly mistake (mounting the kerb a tiny bit when going around a corner at traffic lights), I knew that I was able to pass the test.

Q2. Hmm i dont usually get nervous except when theres trucks  involved. I generally just give  a bigger  distance  in front of me so i give myself room as well.

For learner drivers- if your nervous or in doubt then ask questions. The way to learn  is to ask. Dont just assume things

Hello everyone! Im sorry im late i completely  forgot its monday!

Q1. Um i actually  prefer driving  alone. Its usually the only peace  and quiet and alone time i get. I am free to listen to what music  i want, less distractions in the car and i can take my time and go where i like without worrying about anyone else

Sad that I missed this chat but something really important came up unfortunately. I enjoyed reading through all of your answers though! @Bee @mrmusic @scared01 @LeoTheLion @Eagle

Hey @steana

1. If you can drive, who do you like to drive with or do you prefer to drive alone?

It's been a journey but yes I can drive (yay)! I feel most comfortable driving with one trusted person who can also drive. Driving with a full car, with people who don't know how to drive or with people I don't know that well can be stressful. I really like driving alone if it's somewhere that I am familiar with but if it's unfamiliar it can be a bit stressful.

2. How do you manage stress/nerves when driving/learning to drive? Any tips for learner drivers?

My main tip would be that everyone who learns how to drive goes through that really stressful period and you can and will get past it! 🙂 I was on my Ls for four years and really thought I would never get my license but I eventually did!

3. What helps make long drives fun/exciting? Any fav snacks or tunes?

A great driving playlist is essential!!

4. What are some ways you can stay focused when you are driving for long periods of time?

This is something I struggle with a lot but I would say conversations, music, snacks and coffee!

5. How do/did you cope/manage your nerves around/during driving tests? Did you pass first go or did you have multiple attempts? If you failed your driving test how did you stay motivated to keep going?

I was soo nervous before my test but somehow managed to get through it and pass 😄 I focused a lot on self talk to try to calm myself down - reminding myself that I can just do it again if I fail and that it doesn't mean I'm a bad driver etc

6. DO you have a funny story or driving fail you feel comfortable in sharing?

Probably just getting beeped at a lot when I was on my Ls (who beeps L platers?! So mean...)!

If you can drive, who do you like to drive with or do you prefer to drive alone?

Usually I’m driving alone, and I find that quite enjoyable, just to get a tiny bit of space from other people. Although it depends too, sometimes I feel a bit too alone by myself so I’d prefer the company. It’s actually quite unusual for me to have company in the car, so maybe it could be a good change.

Hi @Eagle @mrmusic

If you can drive, who do you like to drive with or do you prefer to drive alone?

I can drive, infact I am now on my full licence! (I feel old!)

I like driving alone, but when on road trips it's nice to have someone with me to chat to and make it more FUN and less boring!

(For those who can't drive, who do you enjoy riding with?)

Welcome back!
