[CHAT] New Years Resolutions

Hey folks!

Sorry the GR post has come up late, a lot of us have been still stuck in holiday mode at the moment and planning has gone a little awry with less people. Nevertheless, here's the first one of the year!

Since there is a few people around and things haven't been drafted up yet, instead of questions, we can just use this space to have a casual chat about any new year's resolutions and basically your goals for 2018.

So, let's get this started with the one and only question: What's your new years resolution? 🙂

Well I struggled in the second half of last year with my anger so my goal for that would be to get that back under control
Have more valuable connections so hopefully meet some of my family when I go away and also connect with my mentors more
Become fUlly qualified in my trade
Be a better consumer
Help my siblings reach their milestones and be a good supportive role model

@j95 thats awesome your going tofocus on your anger and getting irt back under control. Even though last year was hard, I think you've done well and learnt a heap too. You've been working on it constantly which is really awesome to see 🙂
And best of luck becoming fully qualified, I know this is something you've been working on to, so that'll be amazing to see happen ☺

Heeeey everyone 😁
I keep forgetting when its Monday!!! Hence why I'm usually late ot miss these chats 😂 ooops lol

Sounds like theres a common theme of not generally having new years resolutions, but more so having regular goals seems to be a common theme.

I personally don't get the idea of the new years resolutions, why should we make a plan to change something in the new year and not whenever we feel like it? 😛

This year I'm focusing on my certificate 4 in accounting and eventually gaining employment 🙂
And theres a focus on my mental health too 🙂

Pre-made workout calendars sound like a great idea @FootyFan26. I reckon I might steal that idea from you 😉
What would you say eating healthy would look like at the end of the year that you'll be able to say it was successful? Daily healthy snacks at a specific time instead of random snacks? (I know I won't be able to achieve that haha)

That sounds like awesome goals @j95. Would you say this plan that you made with Ben before would still be helpful? And I absolutely love that you want to be a supportive role model for your siblings, that's awesome! This upcoming trip for you must be exciting!

I don't really do new years resolutions because I feel like you don't need a new year to change something but I also think it may work for some.
I do have goals for this year though

I totally agree with you @j95! You don't need a new year to change something and I feel like sometimes people put a lot of pressure on themselves to achieve something. So to counteract that I like to keep my goals really general and be relaxed with myself, if I achieve something then great, if I don't then that's fine as well.

Thats a great way to put it @missep!

I thinkg being relaxed about goals generally helps be achieve them. I've not put amy pressure on myself to mm do my course and already nearly finished my second assessment of my second unit! No pressure=less/little/no stress = more bussy bee 😛

Hopefully it's an awesome trip @j95! Maybe you'll find out that they happen to be awesome surfers and/or skaters too 😉

Whaaattt @missep? Burgers are awesomeeeee. I only have them once a month though so that totally counts as healthy, right? 🙂

Maybe that should be our goal @FootyFan26! Getting in shape for our sports again!

Where's your fave place to go to? I looove the Mac and Cheese Burger at Royal Stacks…or I can go super laid back and say that I think a classic Big Mac can't do no wrong

Whats your new years resolutions?

My main resolution is to loose abit of weight, maintain my physical health and mental health.

However I like too look at NY resolutions in a separate way and id be interested in others thoughts too...?

instead of making NY resolutions cause lets face it not many stick it it so instead I ask you all the question 'what are you going to continue on with this year?”

for example my aim is to continue learning about my physical and mentla health conditions so I can better manage them, continue my walks and continue learning more ways to cope!

That's so awesome @scared01! I'm going to continue on trying not to 'sweat the small stuff' and try not to stress myself out all the time!

I go for burgers in small hidden places because they do them so well for some reason @missep. Out of the places with franchises, I've enjoyed Grilld and the easier-to-access after work Hungry Jacks whopper, just when I finish work at midnight and nowhere else is open.

Me: you should cut out unnecessary junk in your diet
Also me: has eaten nearly a whole tub (720g) of skittles since Christmas Day including randomly waking up at 2am and deciding I need a handful for a sugar fix
