[CHAT] Pets! Pets! Pets!

Pets! Who doesn’t love our furry, slimy, scaly, or feathered friends?

17.gif

Animals can make excellent companions. Despite not really being able to communicate with them (unless they’re a parrot or a particularly intelligent tortoise), sometimes they are the only ones who understand us, or are able to make us feel any better.

What is the best thing about having a pet?

She's waarrrmmmm! Besides that, she seems to like listening to me talk about anything

@RevzZ I agree 100% about the fact of pets listening to us talk about pretty much anything. My cat/dog have been one of my greatest study assets. While my brothers will get sick of me reciting my exam information at them, my pets just watch me patiently, occasionally stretching or wagging a tail. The perfect captive audience! What is the best thing about having a pet?

Cuddles! (Although that might be difficult with a shrimp...) And having a pet is kind of like having another friend, because they have their own personality and stuff, and that's really cool.

What is the best thing about having a pet?

Probably the fact that even though we can't communicate that well we can still live together and understand eachother.  And who doesn't love playing fetch with their cat!

As for what pets I have, i have 2 cats and 2 fish atm.  One who has greatly delayed my answer to the first question by constantly cuddling me by laying on my arms 😛

Micky:

Tommy who you saw earlier:                  And the two fish...

And they all live in harmony... somehow 😛

Oh gee that might be even better @roseisnotaplant

What is the best thing about having a pet?

Well there's so many things! it's hard to pick the best one. Hmmm.

I think perhaps it's having something to care for, you are responsible for giving your pets the best life possible and in return they hang out with you and do fun stuff, and all of that makes everyone happier 🙂

Also I have multiple shrimp, they seem to have babies about once every 2 months and they live in this giant forest of plants i made for them.... so i don't really know how many i have. At least one of them is called Jacques after the shrimp in Finding Nemo though.

Okay, loving all the answers so far! Pets are great! However, our next question is....

What are the challenges of having and taking care of a pet?

What are the challenges of having and taking care of a pet?

The 'taking care of a pet' part is the hard bit. I mean it can be fun, like taking them for walks and stuff, but there's also tricky stuff like taking to them to the vet and stuff. When a pet gets sick (or in my case eaten by a fox. chickens + railway line = foxes and a bad idea) that can be sad and challenging 😞

What are the challenges of having and taking care of a pet?

Unless you have a pet rock, most pets need quite a bit of TLC. You need to know what kind of food is best for them, save a bit of money for regular check ups and any vet bills that might need to happen as well as giving them the environment they need to be happy - which includes lots of pats, but also random things that you might never have realized can make  life a lot easier for your animal. For example did you know that if you have 2 cats you should have 3 litter boxes? I may have learned this the hard way 😛

We just let our cats outside @Ben-RO. Vet bills are very expensive though.
