Happiness

What's something that makes you happy? Is it something that's easy to get a hold of?

Re: Happiness

Food, plants, movies, friends, family, the beach, vintage shops

Re: Happiness

Exercise! I always feel content after a good sweat session. It's fairly easy to get a hold of, but sometimes requires an internal nudge out the door.

Hanging out with friends and cuddling my dog always brings a smile to my face Smiley Very Happy

Re: Happiness

Spending time with the people I care about, going for a run and meditating make me happy. Do I think happiness is easy to obtain? I think that depends on things like your personality and your environment.

Re: Happiness

The first thing that came to my mind here was 'dogs'.

Luckily for me I live with two and that means that usually I can leave my room and hang out with them. Smiley Very Happy But really, even just seeing a cute picture of a dog pop up on facebook adds to my happiness.

Re: Happiness

I don't think you can "get a hold of happiness" - I feel like happiness is a feeling that comes and goes with the natural ups and downs of life Smiley Happy

Re: Happiness

@May_ I kinda agree. It would be good if we could just go to our "go-to's" for happiness and be guaranteed happiness but for me I notice feeling happy during unplanned moments.

Like this morning I felt happy because I could hear my partner singing loudly in the shower. Lol

Re: Happiness

@StarLord however that being said I think for most people it's certainly possible to increase the amount of times we feel happy (by doing things that we like and that are good for us Eg socialising, fun activities, entertainment, eating healthy, exercise, meditation, etc) which was the point of this forum I think! But overall I think it is more helpful to think of happiness as a feeling or emotion that comes and goes just as other emotions do, rather than as any sort of permanent thing or end goal because that isn't how it works unfortunately
