Happy World Compliment Day: Compliments Thread!!!
Hey all!
I found out yesterday that it was World Compliment Day - I loved the idea so much that I thought it could be nice to start a compliments thread here.
It can be so easy to go about our lives and never tell the people around us how amazing we think they are - but a genuine and heartfelt compliment can really turn someone's day around!
I know that I sometimes really struggle with accepting compliments, and it's something that I'm trying to get better at, along with trying to remember to tell the people in my life what it is about them that I think is awesome.
Tagging a bunch of people to kick things off - your compliment can be as small or as big as you like, about absolutely anything! Let's spread some kindness and happiness on this Monday morning 😄
To get us started, I had two I wanted to share some compliments about my lovely co-workers 🙂
@Bre-RO , I really admire your beautiful way with words, you're such a talented writer and you put so much compassion and thought into everything you do! You're always so kind and empathetic and ready to share a laugh as well 🙂
@Jess-RO you are so generous sharing your expertise, both here on the forums and just here in general! You give so much to this community and it's always done with kindness, willingness to help and a happy smile 🙂
It felt wrong to just do a few compliments for community members because the truth is I would want to write something for every single person here - so I just had to say, I am blown away every single day on these forums. There is so much strength in sharing our experiences and the kindness, honesty, rawness and braveness of the posts here is just unbelievable. I also love how there's time for the fun stuff - the GIFs, the pets, the music, the quotes. It's all just awesome.

I agree with @WheresMySquishy having a flexible place to volunteer can be so hard to find, and I also love how inclusive and supportive the RO team are with their volunteers as well as all the users online

I'd like to thank everyone on the forums and the ReachOut staff for giving me an opportunity to volunteer as a builder and mod! As a carer, it's hard for me to find opportunities that can fit in with my responsibilities. Most places aren't flexible in terms of volunteering or work hours. But I feel so appreciated and valued on here. 🙂
@WheresMySquishy you contribute such a massive amount to this community as a mod! We are so incredibly lucky to have you- you are an incredibly important part of this community and it's wonderful to hear that you feel appreciated and valued
You also have AWESOME GIF game and always manage to find the perfect one to make me laugh - so thank YOU for being so awesome

@scared01 you always give such thoughtful and kind advice to people having a rough time on the forums, and you have the sensitivity to 'sit' with people when they're having a rough time. You're super welcoming to newcomers to the community and generally just help make the community a more awesome place!
@Tiny_leaf you are so caring, and always there for people when they're having a really tough time. You seem to have a wonderful knack for noticing when people might need a bit of extra help, and you're such a generous spirit. I also really appreciate your love of random animal GIFS!
This is nothing like your standard but I did see capybaras at the zoo and it reminded me of the cool stuff I see here- so here's a GIF of a capybara with some puppies. No idea what the back story is behind this - but yay for the internet!

I was actually just coming here to pay YOU a compliment - you always put so much time and effort into community building activities like the GRs, I usually can't be there when they are happening, but always love reading them. Your GIF game is always AMAZING too !!
My problem with doing these is as soon as I write one comment I immediately think of a million other people so hopefully more community members can also spread the love a bit!
Just had to do one more quick shout out to @Bee , you are an amazing, dedicated, thoughtful mod, and you always find animal GIFs that brighten up my day!
But as I said - this entire community is awesome and there's really not enough compliments in the world to do it justice
I'm honestly having a really trash day, from being sick.
But I'm so glad that I was tagged here, and I love everyone here on the forums!
