What music helps you cope?

Music and bands are something that help me cope a lot, and I think a lot of others feel the same way. So tell me - which songs/artists/bands/albums make you feel happy? Which ones make you feel heard and understood? Which ones help comfort you?

@jess1600 and @redhead I thought you guys might be interested in this thread ^__^

Personally, my favourite band ever is an indie band called Daughter!! I discovered them when I was 17 and I can honestly say they've saved my life many times since then.

Mary Lambert's Secrets is my go-to song when I want to feel happy and inspired! I love bands like My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, and artists like Marina and the Diamonds and Lana Del Rey because their lyrics make me feel like someone 'gets' me and understands what I'm going through. And I like listening to the band London Grammar and Billie Eilish when I'm trying to sleep at night.

Who are your favourite artists/bands/albums/songs?

If I pretend you may not see the pain I'm in. So close to me, can't tell what I'm supposed to be ...

Re: What music helps you cope?

Whoa that song is very powerful @redhead! Thank you for sharing it! I especially like the lyrics: "I won't leave without a trace, I won't be erased."

Re: What music helps you cope?

@DruidChild those lines were my tag for ages.

Re: What music helps you cope?

@redhead I've been listening to Red's album of Beauty and Rage today since you mentioned them, my favourite song so far is 'Fight to Forget.' Smiley Happy

Been listening to this song as well today: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wjj2upnfBI0

Re: What music helps you cope?

Okay so I am embracing what I think might just be my own special interest and it's freaking amazing! I can't stop listening to its soundtrack, which despite watching for years I never thought to look up Smiley Tongue

Anyway, it's LEGO Ninjago and it's amazing. (Yes it's a kids show, nope don't care Smiley Tongue)

Re: What music helps you cope?

That's so cool @N1ghtW1ng Smiley Very Happy It's so amazing when you find something that you can't stop listening to. Do you know who wrote the soundtrack?

Re: What music helps you cope?

Jay Vincent and Michael Kramer co-wrote the soundtrack @DruidChild for Ninjago. I try to have all the artists for my songs. With the exception of Disney songs (sorry Disney!) because I haven't gotten around to finding them yet and general laziness (there's so many!) Smiley Tongue
I've been wanting to make a playlist of my favourites from all the soundtracks I've got but I've never gotten around to it. Maybe one day. But first I need to reorganise all my Ninjago songs, get the rest of them and change their names so they all fit Smiley Tongue Some songs have Ninjago in their name, and I don't want that because I know it's from Ninjago already.

Re: What music helps you cope?

Nice @N1ghtW1ng, I feel like I've heard of Michael Kramer before - do you know what else he's written?

That sounds super organised! Do you use YouTube/Spotify/etc to make playlists?
