Re: Write a poem! (Here's mine)
I'm no good at writing poems but I thought I would paste my favourite poem here It helped me deal with some stuff so might be useful to others!
Death is Nothing at All - Henry Scott Holland
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well.

Re: Write a poem! (Here's mine)
but you're still quite the sight
after all these years
and all the tears.
Every now and again I'm sitting
and I can't help thinking
about you gone
and all that went on.
Maybe it's hallelujah,
but maybe I still miss ya.
And I think the worst
is that you weren't the first
to make me feel like this;
you're just another on the list.
Maybe I should know better,
follow experience to the letter,
but whenever I think of you and me
and what you made me see,
I think maybe it's hallelujah,
but maybe I still miss ya.

Re: Write a poem! (Here's mine)
Slowly sticking the knife inverse,
The slowness is what I've been waiting for,
Slowness is what I was expecting,
The spine finds pleasure,
Hits where the heart was,
Only the remainder of the star that has had its time.

Re: Write a poem! (Here's mine)
This is impressive, please I'd actually love to hear more of the poems you've written. You're right, it is quite vivid and disturbing.
Have you written anything that contrasts these themes? It would be interesting to see you writing from a different perspective.
