Hi I have cibophobia and I know that for a fact but the doctors seem to think I have anorexia so now I'm misdiagnosed Smiley Sad.

No matter how much I tell them that I don't care about the way I look or what I eat they don't listen.

I'm about to be discharged but it feels like all that time in an eating disorders hospital when I don't have an eating disorder was wasted.

Uh I hate some doctors.

Re: :(

Hi @Whatevertreveor i'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling like the Doctors have the right diagnosis, that's got to feel very frustrating and perhaps even a little scary Smiley Sad

You always have a right to a second opinion, so if you don't agree with the Doctor's diagnosis, then it's time to ask for that second opinion. It depends on the country you're in, but in Australia where we're based, you ask the doctor for a referral to another specialist/doctor etc and then get them to send what they based their diagnosis on. It's very helpful to share information with the doctor too. For example what sorts of things are causing you distress, how often it happens and when it changes.

Hope that helps. How're you feeling at the moment?

Re: :(

Hi @Whatevertreveor I can't even imagine how frustrating this must be for you!

Just as @Ben-RO said, I would definitely look into pursuing a second, or even third opinion. It may take some time to find the right doctor but it'll be worth it. You could even ask to be referred to a psychologist who might be a little bit more understanding. I wish you all the best with it and hope you feel better!

Re: :(

I am now discharged so it doesn't bother too much now x as long as I know what I have then it's okay I guess
