Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

That's great @redhead that you try and budget your money. It can be difficult trying to keep within our budgets sometimes.

Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

That's actually pretty awesome i reckon @redhead ! A lot of people are in a lot of debt these days, i found this site which shows the total ammount of credit card debt people are in, just in Australia and it's 32 BILLION bucks!

Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

I think I heard that on the news the other day @Ben-RO. Apparently the average Aussie is in $4,200 of credit card debt if I remember correctly!

Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

Money is important to the majority of people. One of the main benefits in having money is that it reduces stress in one’s life, less worry. Try not to overcommit the money you receive, if possible stay away from leases or short term loans.

Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

Yep i think you're pretty much dead on @FootyFan26! That's a lot when you think about it, because you have to pay 700 a year in interest on a debt of that much. 700 bucks a year you could be saving, or using to buy something rather than just paying to a bank for being in debt Smiley Sad

Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

That's a good point @Noel-Moneycare, having enough money to fix your car if its broken down, paying a bill or covering rent for a little while if you lose your job can make a big difference to your stress levels!

Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

Great point @Noel-Moneycare, leases and short term loans can sound like a good short term fix to a problem but actually require repaying alot more than what you leased or borrowed.

Okay everyone, time for the next Q!

What are some of the challenges you face in terms of money?

Re: [Special guest] 20th of April - Noel and Finances

What are some of the challenges you face in terms of money?

Making it since I've been pretty sick for the past couple of months so I haven't been able to get a job and saving it since I don't have an income and usually lend money to my Mum.

What are some of the challenges you face in terms of money?

Finding a job that fits around school and homework and soccer etc. is my main challenge. I'm not actively looking for one at the moment, but I know I will be soon, and I'm not super sure how to go about it.
