Hello

Hi everyone, just joined this group because I was feeling quite anxious. Anyone have any tips as to how to deal with this? I've tried to do the things I usually enjoy but it hasn't been as effective as it was before in the past.

Hey @CatLover I just wanted to check in and see how you are going. Have you been feeling any better at all?

Have you been able to find anything that helps you feel any better, even just a little?

Anxiety is such an awful feeling so I just want to remind you that you don't need to go through it on your own 💜

Hi CatLover,

I'm curious, is your anxiety specific or is it a general feeling? I think it is helpful to first figure out the source or reason of your anxiety. Then, slowly exposing yourself to what you're anxious about can help you realize that it is not as fearful or consequential as previously expected.

Personally, I was once a very socially anxious person. I've found that what eventually got rid of the anxiety was talking to people about my fears, having them argue against my beliefs, and then eventually confronting the situations I feared and realizing reality was not what I expected. After a few instances of evidence contradicting the source of my anxiety, my anxiety eventually vanished and I formed new, healthier beliefs.

Hope this post helps!

Hey @CatLover and welcome to the online community! We are so glad you have joined us here 😊

I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling quite anxious lately. Anxiety is such an awful feeling so I can certainly understand you wanting some tips on how to manage it. You mentioned that you have tried to do the things you usually enjoy, did you find that any of them helped, even just a little bit? Would you feel comfortable sharing more about the things you have tried and what kind of things interest you?

If you are up for a bit of reading, we have some great articles on Managing Anxiety as well as Self-Care tips that might be able to offer some distractions or things you can do. Do any of these activites jump out at you at all?

Anxiety can be a really overwhelming and horrible feeling, so I just want to remind you that you're not alone. We're all here for you 💜

Hi @Courtney-RO Thanks for replying.

I'm finding some of the activities might be helping a bit so perhaps I can keep pushing. I mostly enjoy reading and writing but I'm also thinking of picking up music as a hobby which I enjoyed before but have taken a bit of a gap with. I looked at some of the articles and I think I can perhaps also focus on mindfulness as an activity as well.

Thank you so much for your advice! 😊
