Re: Turning Negatives Into Positives

I'm so sorry about the bad news @scared01. Smiley Sad That's pretty awful but hopefully they have some ideas that they can try to help.

Re: Turning Negatives Into Positives

thanks @WheresMySquishy
It was one of those hidden thing that was masked by other things. the symptoms I was experiencing in the same area was part of this diagnosis however with surgery to fix the original problem, this new one had nowhere to 'hide' if that makes sense. I have to go and get assessed for one treatment thing but ive been told the starting price is $500 so things will definently have to wait till after Christmas now.

Re: Turning Negatives Into Positives

@scared01  That sounds really complicated. It's always hard when you have more than one condition at the same time. I've found that sometimes doctors mistake symptoms of one condition as being part of another, or they struggle to work out the right combination of treatments.

Wow! The cost of the treatment sounds insane! Smiley Surprised I'm constantly in shock of how expensive certain conditions are to treat. Reminds me of a procedure I recently had that cost $750, but the doctor gave me a 'pensioner's discount' and dropped the price down to $450. It wasn't available on Medicare. Is there any way to ask your doctor to provide a discount or find out if it is claimable through health insurance?

Re: Turning Negatives Into Positives

yeah so the condition I have ive actually had for a while but to me the symptoms were normal and then I had my surgery to fix the original problem I went in for and now that is healing this condition is revealing its true nature.
someone in my family needs to have an operation, its at the specialist surgery so not a hospital so not anaesthetic and things and that is costing 3000 and that is discounted for a pensioner as well as medicare.
I don't have health insurance so it makes it tricky. ill wait till after Christmas and then go from there. ill be in a better position for payment plans and things then if they allow that

Re: Turning Negatives Into Positives

Hey @scared01

I'm glad that you have come here to get some support with this news. It can also be a tricky time of year to plan these kinds of things, given a lot of places shut down over Christmas. Is there anything you will be doing over the holiday period to stay well? Heart

We're thinking of you!

Negative: Feeling really demotivated and tired today even though I have so much uni work to do.
Positive: Accepted my day may be less productive than I wanted, but I managed to go for a walk and do some cleaning which is still something
