Personal Development: Tips for Positive Thinking Patterns

We know that negative thoughts cause feelings of frustration. As a result, the negative outlook creates more difficulties in your way and you find it even more difficult to deal with your routine challenges. As a result, moving forward becomes an impossible task for you. In this article, we have given a few practical suggestions to help you have those positive thinking patterns. Read on to find out more.

First of all, it's important to keep in mind that positive thinking helps you focus on your strengths and achievements. As a result, you experience feelings of motivation and happiness. Therefore, you are able to make progress and stop being depressed. Without further ado, let's check out 5 tips that can help you with this.

1. Create new neural pathways that are geared towards optimism

You need to learn to change the way you think. The idea is to get rid of the negative thoughts. For instance, if you always think that people laugh at you, you are wrong. Similarly, if boss calls for you, it doesn't mean he has something bad to say about you. What you need to do is get rid of these negative thoughts.

2. Love the people around you

We all know the importance of a good hug. If you develop positive contacts with your pets, loved ones and friends, you can experience great feelings. According to a research study, a nurse got higher tips just because she followed the practice of touching the arms of her customers. So, if you love the people you know or don't know, you will get a lot of positivity in return.

3. Be social if that is important to you

One benefit of being more social is that you can curb your feelings of loneliness. What you need to do is be with happy people. This way their positive energy will have a great impact on you as well.

4. Help others, when you have the energy to.

If you help someone, they will feel great. So, what you need to do is volunteer your resources, money, and time. The idea is to release as much positive energy as you can. In return, you will also get a lot of positive energy.

Hopefully, you will find these tips helpful.

@Princelee thank you so much for these awesome tips, as someone who's feeling a bit stressed and anxious right now these look really helpful and I'm looking forward to trying to implement them more in my life especially number 2. I also had a similar question to @Tay100 where did you learn these tips? Is this an area you are very interested in... are you studying a psychology related course etc.?

Hey @Princelee thanks for your input and spreading a message of positivity. I did feel like as someone who practices all these things and still has mental health challenges, it's important to mention that there are often other influencing factors that make implementing these strategies really hard to do. What I've learnt is when I get the right combo of treatment, professional and family/friend support - all these steps are much easier to follow. So, just putting it out there for anyone who reads this and takes these steps but are still struggling - know that figuring this stuff isn't a one size fits all.

Also, wanted to give you a heads up that we did edit some of your post as we have guidelines around giving advice.
