Hey @MB95 ,

I've just been spending a bit of time catching up on your threads- and I suppose I have two things on my mind. Lol, let's face it, I often end up saying more than 2 things..

Firstly, I hope you know how amazing you are. Reading through your posts, I was struck by just how damned hard you have been working to keep yourself safe, get through the next 2 weeks at uni, support other people here- that is seriously amazing, given how tough things have been. I especially love seeing OT theories in action - some of my best mates from uni are now OTs. One's a mental health OT, I seriously think they are some of the most underrated health care professionals. This mate was a mature age student (so was I), and I can tell you that their life experience plus their studies and general compassionate nature means they do an amazing job. If you ever decided to go down that path, I think you'd be wonderful.

Secondly - I'm also hearing that things are still so tough right now. It can be really awful when traumatic memories come back to us, whether that's in flashbacks, or dreams... I'm not sure how familiar you are with the science around trauma. But basically - if we haven't been able to process stuff, it will often come up in different ways, at different times. But, and this is a HUGE but - there is now so much more knowledge around trauma and how to successfully treat it. People DO recover from trauma. It's not always easy, and it can be a long road, but I know people who have been able to develop some amazing tools to process trauma and all of the stuff that comes along with that in terms of mental health and stuff.

It's quite a specialised area, but someone who's skilled in this field can be a huge, huge help.

It's also a lot of work, so I wouldn't necessarily encourage you to do that right at this minute, I can completely understand wanting to just get through the next 2 weeks first. But once that's done, would you like to chat more about what kinds of support might be helpful for you?

@MB95  you are a kind, compassionate, intelligent person, and we are here for you - you truly do deserve the right kind of help and support, and we are always here to listen, and support you as you work out what's best for you in your mental health journey/ toolkit/ whatever you want to call it! 💜
