We want to hear from you: take part in research on online communities and receive a $100 gift card!

Hi everyone,

My name is Bianca and I work in the research team here at RO. I am posting here about an exciting research opportunity!

ReachOut are joining forces with researchers from Swinburne University and James Cook University who are keen to learn about your experiences using the online communities.

So, who can take part?

They are looking for people to take part in a research interview who are 18-25 years old and living anywhere in Australia.

What’s it all about?

They want to learn more about how you think online communities may, or may not, help people. They’d like to chat with you about things like…

  • How and why did you start using online communities?
  • What are your experiences of using the online communities and has it given any help?
  • Are there times when the online community has not been helpful?
  • What are your experiences of using other health services, compared with what you do in the online communities?

By taking part, you’ll be helping us to get a better understanding of how the online communities work for young people in Australia.

What’s involved?

The university researchers would like to chat for about 40 minutes by a phone call or Zoom call, whichever you prefer!

Once you’ve spoken to them, you will also receive a Giftpay e-voucher of $100 as a thank you for your time.

All responses will be confidential and they won’t use your real name when reporting their findings.

If you’re keen to help out and share your experience using the online communities, check out this form and see more info about the project.

Then, they’ll work with you to set up a convenient date and time for a conversation.

Please note that the interviews will be led by the university researchers, not by ReachOut.

Thank you!
