You have nothing to be ashamed of. People graduate from University at all sorts of different ages and I personally find it amazing that people continue their education regardless of where they are at in life.
You especially seem to have had a difficult time with life throwing a curveball. But the fact that you still have a plan, you are still working, you are still volunteering and trying to make a difference in other people's lives is amazing to me and you should be proud of that.
Besides not being part of your original plan, are there any other reasons why you don't like the idea of graduating at the age of 24?
