I'm so incredibly sorry that you lost your cat. I'm always devastated when I've lost one of my pets, so I completely understand why you are feeling empty and couldn't do your assessments.
Counselling sounds like a really good idea, it will allow you time to talk about how you're feeling. I know in the past you have spoken with a psychologist, would you feel comfortable going back to see them?
Considering that it's the holidays, are you able to email your Teachers and the School Counsellor and let them know what has happened? There may be the option to get an extension on your assessments considering that you are having such a difficult time.
