Hi @Genderthief 👋
It sounds like you've been reflecting on your communication style online vs in person, and I want to say that I think many people feel similar. I know I've felt the same way! It can be so much easier to think about what you want to say/express yourself when you have the time to type out responses. I get your worries about people thinking differently of you - it is a big thought to have to swirl around in your mind!
It sounds like distractions are helpful for you. What are some of your favourite ways of distracting yourself?
School can be a hard place to overcome social anxiety, especially when there are dynamics like established friend groups, year groups not mixing etc. In my experience, making friends after school was way more natural because some of those limitations became less important.
What was it like for you when the friend group approached you and gave you a gecko?
I saw we shared some articles about anxiety, and I thought this one about social anxiety might be worth checking out 😊 let us know what you think!
