I hear how frustrating it can be to have different values to your parents. It must be so uncomfortable to know you have periodontitis which could have been prevented.
I hear you feel that your parents could have made a difference to whether you are now living with the this gum disease or not, including not placing so much pressure on academics and sports.
At the same time, as much as this gum disease cannot be 'cured', there are ways to slow down the stages. Have you been able to speak to you dentist about it?
