Hi @Lemon_Dolphin👋! It's so great that you're looking for those healthy ways to deal with self-harm urges. I've had my own experience with self-harm in the past so I know how much strength it takes to look for those different, kinder ways to cope!

I definitely see why your counsellor recommended sprinting as a suggestion, but also it's one of those things that isn't easy to do everywhere! Maybe you could try someone similar such as jumping jacks or skipping? Like even if you put your backpack down on the way to/from work and do that on the spot for a little bit! Or similar to the squeezing your fist, but in a less painful manner - maybe you could try tensing other muscles and then releasing them? Sort of in a progressive relaxation kind of way, and especially the leg muscles since those can't dig into anything else like your hand might. But please don't give yourself a cramp! I just tried it out myself and it brings a nice relief after, plus it's not very noticeable so I think you could do it when you're out 😄

I hope you find those even a bit helpful! But let me know if you don't, and I can try and think of some other ideas too 💚
