I hope the early night let’s you wake up feeling rested and lighter @annabethxchase it sounds like today has been very draining on you. Having your feelings invalidated like that is horrible, especially by a parent. Ps @redhead just wanna chime in and remind you how strong you are! Checking in, no matter how hard things have been is not an easy thing AND supporting other members around the forum at the same time Relapse is difficult, but a lapse doesn’t undo all the progress you’ve made. Recovery isn’t straight forward and has it speed bumps.

hey @litgym calling helplines can be difficult when there's people around, I know how you feel webchats could be another option if that's something your comfortable with? I like using eheadspace, I think kids helpline has a webchat too

@Tdozer that's totally understandable, there doesn't need to be a reason i don't like talking to my family about my feelings either so i get where you're coming from is there anyone that you do like talking to about your feelings? music and movies are great distractions when you're feelings get to be a bit much to handle, when i get anxious or overwhelmed i either put on some music (always linkin park ) and go for a walk outside or put on a movie, usually a rom-com or something that will make me cry and take my full attention both physically and emotionally what music do you like to listen to? do you have a favourite movie that makes you laugh or smile? if those don't work for you there's a massive thread full of distraction ideas here

hi @Tdozer it sounds like there are a few different things on your mind that you're concerned about at the moment which can definitely have an impact on your mental health. Its good to hear that although you are not doing the best right now that you have been feeling good lately, feelings can be a bit of a ride like that! I'm glad you're enjoying living with your mum, her girlfriend and the girlfriends brother its important to have those supports around! Do you ever talk about how you feel with them? Is there anything that you already do or think you could do when you get angry to try distract or calm yourself? Let us know how you're doing, always here for you

heya @Gropa I have actually been in a similar situation but from the reversed perspective, this person and me have been best friends since and are still to this day Staying friends with and hanging out with someone that you have had/still do have feelings for is a tricky thing and not simple or easy by any means, but it can be done! I think a good place to start is by thinking about what @Jay-RO mentioned, do you feel like you could hang out if you do choose to stay friends? In my experience feelings like that don't so much fade or disappear, rather they develop, change and grow! It sounds like you care for her a lot and that you have a super special, strong friendship. Being able to stay friends with someone that you have feelings for just goes to show how much of a respectful, understanding and mature person you are not many people can do this and I think its a very admirable trait to have. In terms of sending her a message to explain your situation, my only advice would be to stay true to how you feel by being honest and open with her and with yourself. To explain my experience of this a little, this person was someone who I kinda dated for a little, I then told him I wasn't ready for this and that I would like us to stay friends, he was extremely honest with me and explained that he had developed feelings for me during this time and that it would take time for these feelings to grow/change into a friendship, he was respectful, understanding and agreed that he wanted to stay friends. It took some time but not as much as I thought for us to find our 'groove' I guess you could call it. He has been one of my best friends ever since and someone I have a lot of trust and respect for. @seafaringstar moving really does sucks, that sounds so frustrating have you had any time to do something fun/nice for yourself between moving and everything? ah I know how you feel! I've tried logging into the lifeline and eheadspace webchats over the last week and each time they've either been full or I was waiting for so long I eventually gave up, but you're so right you've just gotta stay persistent! I find that the times I need to talk to someone are always the times when they have the most traffic, usually I'll have a browse through the resources, articles and links on their websites while I wait and find some cool things though! I'm very similar in that I don't like calling services because I'm worried my housemates will overhear me and I'm quite anxious about talking over the phone, webchats and forums are always an easy go to and we're all here to listen and help however we can! that's awesome to hear you're thinking about trying headspace! My experiences at headspace center's have been pretty positive, what I liked the most about it was that after my first visit they gave me the option to either keep seeing the person I had the first time if we got along, or they could refer me onto someone else at the center who they think would be the most suited to my needs most of their services are free too which is a huge bonus I hope everything goes well talking to your mum about it, good luck and let us know how you go

Hey @Guzman123 I know how you feel, I experience panic attacks too and they really take it out of you. I find that its the fear of having another one that is the most difficult part for me to cope with sometimes. Keeping a diary of them and how you dealt with it is a great idea that I have never actually thought to do myself so I might give this a try! Thank you I saw in a previous post you made that watching horror movies helps you? I'm a huge horror movie fan myself Have you seen any good ones recently? I watched Apostle the other night on Netflix, its pretty long but so worth it if you love horror!
