:) People underestimate them. Everyone who meets Gooshy realises what they're missing out on. He's super placcid and friendly. I just let him wander around the house, he comes on car trips, has been on the train...we went to a cafe once. haha...

A part of improving your wellbeing is appreciating life’s simple pleasures. What’s a little thing in your life that is always guaranteed to make you feel good??
Ummm...bath. haha...oh and cats, cats, cats. Anything to do with cats.

@dreamcatcher Totally agree with the bad vibe thing. It seems some people are just so nasty and cynical within themselves that they lose sight of what it actually important. @j95 ahhh...yeah being alone is one of my big triggers. That's where the pets come and tend to help. Except I often don't actually have them around me. Like Gooshy...he's been living with my parents for the last 5 weeks while I've been on clinical. I see him in two days though. Yeah he's a lizard, but I love him and it's very therapeutic giving him pats and cuddles. Plus he likes it.

On the flipside, what are some things you try to avoid if you are on a mission to be your best self?
This is a hard question. Trying to avoid any negative or damaging coping strategies.

(sorry for caps lock, I'm really emotionally charged tonight haha)
I imagine that would have been quite challenging. A mouthful whilst you shampooed?

You eat whilst in the bath, @_sagira_? I suppose I am probably the weird one here in that when I'm sick I can't even bring myself to put my head in the toilet.
Yeah...it's become a huge part of making myself feel good. Plus whenever I'm all rattled and feel like I'm losing it...it can ground me very quickly and make me feel more settled. But yep, the occassional meal in the bath is quite lovely. ahaha

@lokifish I'm also definitely a big cleaner. There's something satisfying about it somehow. @dreamcatcher YEP!!! Nature is awesome to watch. I often like going on slow pleasantry walks just to take in my surroundings. @delicatedreamer I drive to the beach all the time and just sit in my car! I often listen to an audio book, or do some drawings while I'm sitting there. It's just getting out and away from the house. SO the number one thing for me is: Having a BATH! With candles, tea, a good book, some chocolate, or a full roast dinner...seriously...I love it.

@_sagira_ That's an interesting point. I wonder how many people would say they're an animal person, and if they also describe themselves as a people person. Some are both, some are neither and some are one but not the other. Fascinating :)
Hmmm...very true actually. I've always said as long as I'm surrounded by animals, I know I will be okay. People let me down...animals don't.

OK, we want your theory on this, why is it that videos and pictures of cats and dogs have become so popular?? Why do they make us feel so good?
I read a bit about this a while ago - why humans have evolved to feel attachment and empathy towards other animals. It said something about it helping us domesticate dogs & cats so they could become useful (and eventually awesome pets) for us. I think also animals live in the moment, are innocent and don't care what others think, which we often find difficult to do as humans
Yeah I definitely agree with this. They're non-judgemental...well for the most part. I'm an animal person so I naturally get along with most animals. Where I know some people just give off the wrong vibe. They just make me really, really happy and feel connected to another soul.

My cat is my favourite creature in my life! She is a chocolate-coloured burmese and is very cute (Except when she tries to bite/scratch me haha). I would upload a photo but I'm not on the right computer. Cuddling her when she's in a good mood definitely makes me happy :)
Yeah we have a family cat named Sasha...and we make her love us. :P She's not very friendly. But she is super cute. Oh and we have a turtle named Benson.

@rt262 :) Thanks, it has been really good so far. But I've reached the point where it gets into the nitty gritty and I've had to stop. Because when I started I had this urge and need to write and was overwhelmed with anxiety that lasted about a week. It's stopped now though. So I'm only going to go to it when I need to process. Probably best that way. I hope some other people think about submitting?

I'm really sad about it. I just got a snap chat from a friend and it's of her watching Aladdin. I don't know about you guys but it takes me a long time to start watching films/tv shows/ etc, when a celebrity passes.
I wasn't really sure where to put this, but I did want to talk about it. I had a quick look and there doesn't seem to be any threads? Sorry if there is. It's so awful that he was hurting so much that he found suicide was his only escape. But I feel like this is really important. I'm so sick of being ashamed of my mental health issues, and yet I am still too afraid to make it public knowledge. I know that at the end of the day it doesn't change who I am as a person. I am not the bipolar, or the anxiety and everything else that comes with it. I find my mental health issues are just a challenge and an obstacle that needs to be overcome.
I've come across tonnes of posts on tumblr with people voicing their opinions about the whole affair, down to his diagnosis. The media is saying major depressive disorder, but there's the other side saying he actually had bipolar. I do think it's important that the facts are accurate, but at the same time I don't think it matters too much either. I think depression is slightly less stigmatised and more relatable to people and that means a lot more light needs to be shed on mental health illness' like bipolar, BPD and DID etc...etc...etc. I don't even know where I am going with this. It's just all very sad. :(

@stonepixie Totally agree, they're definitely not supporting us, but in fact taking things away from us and making it even harder and more difficult. I mean I just calculated my uni fees $22 000+ and that's for some subjects I practically taught myself. Like...come on! ANYWAYYYYY...

Do you think people understand the challenges and pressures young people face? If so how could they better assist us?
I feel like they are ignoring it, or they just don't care. For the most part I think meditation and mindfulness should be taught to every single kid out there, because it's so important they don't lose focus on the present. So much can be achieved with a tool so simple. Anyway, I'm off guys have a bit of stuff I need to do tonight. Thanks for the chat. :)

What I dislike most is people's lack on insight into what is actually important in their lives. So many of my friends are so caught up in their careers, but I don't see that as the most important and significant thing to do in my life. My career does not define me, it's just something I do, and unfortunately it's something that we all need in this culture to survive. I think it's about learning not to survive, but to live. People focus too much on the things that are superficial and not that important.

@stonepixie I actually do like adulthood. It's just that my mind that came with it has been a bit of a challenge...and the cooking and cleaning. Well I like cleaning (yeah weird)...so things are always clean and tidy around me, as for cooking, I love having a decent meal (which I often won't get 7 nights a week at home), so I really like being in control of who I choose to be.
