Goooo @Bee!! Sooooo happy for you!! :) Today I'm grateful for my mum, who said she'd give me a lift to the train station later. and also for Derry Girls, which made me laugh. And for my friends, who persist even when I trick myself into thinking I have none :)

Negative: Getting a little anxious lately about some stuff happening at work, and I’m not sure if it’s just my brain doing it’s usual ridiculous thing or if it’s an actual problem. Positive: I am not there today. I have worked extremely hard to become fully qualified and i’m not going to let this deter me. I’m working really really hard all day and night to make my own business work, so maybe i won’t have to worry about it for too long.

thank you @DruidChild dear school, im so sick how you treat me :( im sorry i can't always be safe and "okay". I try to be but no one realises how hard breathing is. im trying okay, but attendance is hard, full days are SO hard. you expect me to do work but I can't I physically can't pick up my pen and complete the work. im always so dissociated at school. you guys don't realise how much pressure you put on students. its horrible pretending that I wasn't just in emergency, I didn't relapse, I didn't just have a tough appt. all you want is your students to be magically okay. dear GP, thank you from the very bottom of my heart for not giving up on me. you've seen me be my bubbly quirky self and you've seen the very distressed out of control self. thank you for not judging me either way and still being so committed to helping me

Unexpected compliments are really nice.. I had someone ask for my number and even though I am spoken for, it was a boost to my day because I took it as a compliment. To be honest, I wish we gave compliments more often. Sometimes I think we take the backseat in thinking that people already get enough compliments, but that is not my experience. Given that it has the power to make someone feel so valuable, why not?!

I am now on mid sem break (already!!!) and thought I'd check in and see how everyone is going?
I hope for all the first years you are surviving and use the break to catch up on some work and treat yourself for surviving so far!
It is so tempting to stay inside especially now it's colder and ignore all the work piling up but I'm trying to learn from previous years and get started on some essays so I don't get overwhelmed later in the semester.
:)

thanks for the response Sophie. I am looking after myself better now. I am doing much better, but I still want her back and get quite upset sometimes. Sometimes about different things, sometimes its about the break up, sometimes its just about the abuse she received. I'm not sure of the extent of it, not that it matters, abuse is abuse, but I cant help think about how severe it may have been and it really gets me quite sad and angry I do hope that in time she will find her way back to me. It is our, or was going to be our anniversary in about 6 weeks. I am thinking about buying her a nice ring or necklace. What do people think? I want to show her I love her and care about her, and our relationship, but I don't want her to think I'm trying to buy her affection or her feel obligated to try to work things out with me because I brought her a gift. I definitely intend to send her flowers, maybe a gift is too much? I don't know. Any advice would be great! Thanks again for the response.

The school is bluffing, they can't get you put in a psychiatric ward- only a doctor can. Also unless your self harming is especially dangerous or an attempt to kill yourself, they generally do not hospitalize people with Borderline Personality Disorder. However you shouldn't be harming at school in front of others, that may be seen as manipulative or inappropriate. They can only detain you in a psychiatric hospital if you are mentally ill and a direct danger to yourself or others, moderate self harm doesn't nessasarily meet that criteria. Self harm is not uncommon in teenagers.

Thanks graphiqual for starting this thread
I realised you never know when you would lose someone. It is a different story when your best friend suddenly gives you the cold shoulder to hearing the news that another friend has passed away. So this is very relevant to me right now - knowing how to cope with missing someone.
What I am trying to do:
1) Talk to someone. I am on Lifeline chat atm
2) Keep busy (it is a good distraction like others said)
3) Cry a bit (it is ok to let it out sometimes)
4) Treat yourself, don't make it harder by critising yourself when life gets hard.
=> Like go and see a movie (I wanna see Monster University)
