My favourite type of cheese is a tie between brie and camembert. Idk, I guess I just really really like the texture and flavour. They're great on their own or on crackers. My question: what's your favourite scary story?

Hellooooo...Today I practiced self care by laying in bed for a couple of hours with my chihuahua x jack russell doggo. It was the simple day kind of day that I needed, and my dog Lyla really enjoyed the cuddles too!!

Hi @Jessica123! Welcome to the forums! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us. It sounds like it's been a confusing, conflicting time for you. :( I know that understanding your identity can take a lot of time and I don't think that we ever stop getting to know ourselves. I just wanted to ask how you're going.

Really liking this thread and reading through it, it's a good exercise to remind us of our strengths (particularly those of us struggling with depression or low self-esteem). 1. I have a lot of empathy and compassion, something that drives me and my direction in life. 2. I'm super emotional which I strangely like about myself (it can be a downside at times, but emotions make me feel aliiiive!) 3. I tend to do well in creative tasks, and believe I have an eye for aesthetic and "quality" :)

Hey @BaileyP, that sounds like a really heavy feeling to bear. How would you feel about making your own thread to chat about what is going on for you? You can do that by clicking 'Start a topic'. No pressure though!

Oh no! I think you mentioned that before but I'm sorry to hear the situation is getting worse Yeah it's really becoming a difficult situation. I'm up in NSW and there's been a lot of concern about travellers too- it's getting very messy! I hope you're safe where you are- do you know if your school will be moving online?

Hi @TawnyOwl, This sounds like a really tough situation for you. You mentioned that she is your best friend, would you feel comfortable in letting her know your sexual orientation? If that goes well, maybe you could take the next step in letting her know your feelings towards her. I want to just highlight and say thank you for sharing this with us, it can be really tough navigating sexuality and possible relationships and feelings-especially when it's with an already close friend. I can relate to having feelings fr friends, however, after LOTS of journalling and self-discovery, I acknowledged they were just 'crushes' and found them attractive rather than actual romantic feelings. Good luck with however you decide to go about this.

So great to see this conversation continuing!
@WheresMySquishy: I've just had a look at the links you provided and they look super informative- I am someone who likes to cross check my facts, so looking and multiple sources of information is super helpful. I also think you are right in saying that seeking expert medical advice is a great way to ensure one has the right information about sex. The internet can have a lot of information, but for information you can trust, speaking to a GP or medical expert is always a safe bet to ensure that you have all the facts.
@Anonymous: I think the way you described consent is really important, particularly this sentence: "Also yes to one thing doesn't mean yes to everything". Consent is something that can be withdrawn at any point.
You also mentioned your interest seeing more information available about sex that can help improve the fulfillment of a person's sex life. Learning about your body, your partner's body and what you both like can really add to the experience for you both, and I definitely agree there is a gap in information here. The experience of sex, and personal likes/preferences/experiences that feel good to an individual, is still a topic that is not always openly discussed. I have noticed there have been more books, podcasts and online articles exploring the topic of working towards a fulfilling sex life, but still not easy to find.
Even resources around how to start conversations with your sexual partner to understand what each person likes and doesn't like before, during and after sex is also lacking and would help both trust building and working towards a fulfilling sex life.

Heya @Tay10! I'm glad you've stumbled upon this thread - even though it is a bit late - better late than never I suppose! Haha :p. That's interesting to know that you've never heard of self positivity before! Anyway, to answer your questions: What does self positivity look like? Man, that is a difficult question! I think that there is no right or wrong answer to this question - the definition of self positivity to me is looking after yourself and always knowing there's a positive side to all of us. How does it differ to self-care? Self-care is all about taking care of yourself, whereas self-positivity is all about seeing the positive things about yourself - the great things that make up who your are! Both terms are eerily similar and so it can be confusing finding how to differentiate between the two!

Such a wholesome thread @Bre-RO What do you think helps to expand your friendship circle? As cliche as it may sound...here I go... yes, join. the. clubs. at. university. or highschool. As many as you can! You'll find one that you vibe with forever and you won't regret the time you invested in it! How do you cope with changing friendships? Tbh, I'm still learning how to deal with this one. I try to remember that if a bond is sacred, it will never break! Share a funny/happy memory you have with a good friend Once, we were in a Sportsgirl changing room helping each other in and out of these hella complex gown and we were jammin' to Lizzo as you do and were thought the changeroom curtain was fully closed but nooo the sales assistant saw us dancing away and it was so awkward and wholesome and ugh <3 We were going FULL Lizzo mode in that changeroom

@ecla34 Thank you for this great thread! Funnily has come at a really relevant time for me. I'm one for people-pleasing and notice myself saying yes to all social events, extra-curricular activities, extra work shifts ect.. I like being busy but I'm at the point in the trimester where all my assignments are becoming due so it is a high stress period and I absolutely need to take time for myself and not say yes to everything! Next week I'm going to try and practice saying "no" to social events that I'm not feeling 100% like going to! wish me luck.. !
