Hey @WheresMySquishy, thanks for responding! I am glad to know Im not the only one. Its really great your sister is able to do high school part-time and I wish her many blessings for her health. I understand exactly what you mean but be sure to give yourself kudos for completing a difficult degree at a young age. It takes courage and hard work to do that and you ended up getting to where you wanted to be 😊 I am kind of feeling mixed emotions now.. I completed many units that taught me a lot and I can still mention in my resume so I still did achieve a lot from doing the course. Now that its over I feel so free but also lost. With the time I have now I am planning to prioritise fitness, try out new hobbies, explore my own city (cause I realise I spend too much time indoors and in familiar places), and after the covid19 settles I’ll return to my part-time job as well as some volunteer experience. Btw, what did you study? & what kind of volunteer work did you do? I remember talking to you about volunteering in a nursing home a few months ago. But I haven’t been on RO forums in a while.. Im glad to be back. Thanks ^_^

Hi guys, I just did something that I was kind of dusting under the carpet for a while. I completed the all theoretical assignments for my tafe course but I did not want to continue with the prac side of the course.. this is not only because it was in a hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic and im scared as barnacles but its also because I changed my mind about what I want to do. My course was ending on the 26th of June.. do you guys think its odd that I dropped out when it was almost completed? Also, I am completely lost about what I want to do with my career.. Im 18 years old and just graduated from high school and wanted to give something a go and thats why I started the course. If you guys could give advice / share your experiences about discovering your passions that would be awesome ^-^ I am really interested in self wellness but I dont know of careers that relate Thank you very much!

Hello @Hozzles , This does make sense to me! and its completely normal to be feeling abnormal during such an uncertain time. Sometimes I feel this way too because I feel like I haven’t found a hobby yet - I don’t think Ive found something I am truly passionate about and it brings me to feel kind of the same way you described.. Oh and I can really relate to the animal crossing part, when I unlocked terraforming I had no idea what to do and I still don’t but I think if you just play around with it and do random things with cliffs and rivers that the creative juices will start flowin’ Anyways, I am not too good at advice but I think you shouldn’t put pressure on yourself or make yourself do things. Sometimes it’s good to give yourself time to do nothing and give yourself a break for a while and eventually you’ll feel a spark again for the things you enjoy doing. I hope you feel better and that you know you’re not alone. If you would like friends on animal crossing there are some New Horizon discussion groups on Facebook that you could join if you like. I dont have internet at the moment so I am playing solo too.

Hii @Maddy-RO , thank you so much for the response it means a lot & it really does help. I'll remember it anytime I'm in the gist of my thoughts and I think it will make it very much easier for me to get passed them. & I'm hoping that with time it stops lingering in my mind and that things with my mum get better. Thank you for all that you and the team do on this site. It was my first time opening up on here and I really don't regret it :)

Hello😊 @liv1611 Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond, it really makes me feel so abnormal sometimes but it really helps to know I'm not alone in these situations. I considered going to a psychologist or counsellor when I was going through the breakup, but I don't really feel comfortable seeing one and I kind of have it in my mind to just get through it myself - which is probably why it's been harder. I will definitely consider it now though and I'm really glad to hear that it's helped you. I have a few good friends, and I'm so grateful for them because they are so great. But sometimes I still feel alone because I don't think I've found a best friend that has a lot in common with me yet. I will also start reading some daily affirmations. Thank you so much and I hope you stay safe 😊❤ your response has given me a lot more confidence that I can get through this.

Helloo @Janine-RO @ thank you so much for the response, it really a big help I feel like there has always been this tension, even before the COVID19 situation arose. But I think now it's getting to me a bit more because we are in the house together almost 24/7 now. I am studying from home at the moment, and my mum doesn't work because she has a PTSD from her childhood events. I think that makes it a lot harder for her because she is going through menopause on top of the PTSD. We do enjoy a lot of things together we go to our local park together, we run errands together, we eat together and we talk about things together too. We do have a good relationship but she is really easily ticked off and argues with me everyday. & she sometimes brings up things I am insecure about while arguing with me. I think the solution is for me to change how I react to it and not take it so much to heart when she does argue with me, kind of stay in my own zone and instead of feeding the argument just let it go. Do you think that this is what I should do? I also hope you're doing fine during this uncertain time :) I will definitely check out the links. Thank you for all that you do on the site!

The second thing that has taken a toll on how I feel a lot is my ex partner, it was my first relationship and it lasted from 2017-2019 in high school. We had quite a good relationship from the start but toward the end we kind of drifted apart, but it was more him drifting away from me and then me feeling sort of resentment for it. He ended up telling me he loved another girl who was in our class, and that he loved her ever since he saw her basically.. He just never acted upon it. After this we tried being friends but it was all too sensitive, I stayed talking to him on and off throughout the last year of high school (which was a rollercoaster of emotions for me).. Anyways after graduating I thought that's it, I'm gonna get on with my life and move on from it, I got a job and started college and I got to know a few knew people too. I've had good laughs and made some good memories since then. But the breakup still lingers in my mind and I'm scared that it always will until I find another relationship. Which I really don't want to have to rely on another relationship to fully move on from it, I know I need a lot of self development to do on my own but I have that desire to feel companionship and just a genuine bond with someone. I talked to my ex about a month ago again and I don't want to be with him at all anymore but I think the fact that he loved someone else really lowered my self esteem cause I don't feel pretty, or smart or as calm as the girl he liked. I just want to know how to handle things when thoughts about it come flooding to my mind again. Thanks so much to anyone who read this and anyone who gives me advice.. This is a no filter 5am mind dump.

For the past two years I have been feeling sadness in the back of my mind, and it all comes to the centre of my mind now and then.
The first thing I've been thinking about is my mum
I'm 18 and I live with my mum who has brought me up all her on her own with no father figure and no family support. She is a great mum who looked after me with so much care and she still does. She has lived a tough life and she's now come to the menopausal time in her life which makes her really moody and frustrated and she seems to tell me off so frequently and we end up getting into annoying arguments. Especially now that the corona virus is going on we are together at home and her angry energy makes me feel low. I do talk to her about these things but I don't think that there's anyway I can make it better. I was just wondering ways of how I can help this situation and keep a good state of mind when things like this do happen.
Thanks so much to anyone who helps out ❤

Must be so cosy! and oh myy so do I, I really like deep house music & disco music. What's it like volunteering at a nursing home? I'm currently doing a healthcare course and we get to do work placement in either a hospital or nursing home, it's been postponed to next year so I'm keen to hear about your experience. There's still heaps of people in my local park so I think you might be able to go if you're walking or doing some sort of exercise. That villager wasn't going to miss KK's performance lol xD I really can't wait to unlock the terraforming shovel to make hills and ponds because the layout of my island isn't as good as it could be. & yum! I got oporto's delivered just the other day too. What's your favourite pizza?

WheresMySquishty That sounds awesome, I bet your house has become the ultimate vibing zone :) what sort of music do you like?? Im so grateful we will still have access to healthcare clinics and such, you're using this time to do good things so a big kudos to you! It's my third week practising social distancing ive only been to the local park and grocery shop. So far it's not too bhed but it makes me feel a little weird..
Animal Crossing NH is helping us all through this difficult time :') Hows your island coming along? Im upto the part where Im trying to get 3 stars for KK to come visit..
If they do close they should provide delivery services so we can still eat

Heya @Hozzles , you've made this thread so wholesome, thank you! It's nice to meet ya.. I think staying at home has actually given me the opportunity to have sometime to recollect & think about my life. (But I still hope we dont have to stay inside for too too long). I started keeping a notebook to keep track of my goals and to just mind dump which has helped me feel more confident, and I'm starting to incorporate more stretching and some exercises into my day - it's difficult at first but it puts me into a really good mindset! Nuff about me thou, what are your goals and how do you plan to achieve them? whatever they are I know you got this! How did skydiving and bungyjumping make you feel? Ill definely check that thread out. Ty ^-^

going for a walk-jog to the servo and buying myself some OJ, im mostly staying at home because of the corona virus but i made it a daily thing to go for walks around the neighborhood to keep me feeling sane. This is my first time writing on this forum so I guess this also a form of self care? anyways, looking forward to making some buddies and unleashing my thoughts on here... PEACE!
