@xXLexi_Lou122Xx good point, and sorry to hear that. I don't like Planes much either. Probably Pets already house trained. Would you rather scuba diving or sky diving? (I don't think I'd do either lol)

Yes, or at least I believe that if it's meant to be it will be. Do you believe in manifestation?

@Anonymous I use just about the same recipe! The original recipe I used even has a extra finishing touch - if you sprinkle cacao powder and brown sugar over the top and pour over a tablespoon of hot water before putting it in the microwave, it makes a self-saucing pudding. Another variation I like is substituting the cacao powder for a tsp of cinnamon, and putting jam in the middle. Microwave donut!

"You are strong, you are beautiful, you are enough" -Vanessa Pawlowski It reminds me for what I am. At least, when I'm not distressed... Great Idea for a thread! There are definitely some awesome quotes here too!

I've planned to go to Sydney by myself in November after my final uni exams! I'm so excited (have a countdown on my phone and everything haha)!!! I already bought my flights, just gotta pick a hotel! I'M SO EXCITED. I really want to travel everywhere, though. I REALLY want to go to the US, Canada, UK, Korea, Japan (been once and it was amazing), Malaysia, Singapore... literally everywhere. I saw a tv show where the host went to Mongolia which looked super interesting.

You know yourself best and it sounds like you have given this a lot of thought and analysis. You are the expert in your own experience. I get that you are feeling pretty calm at the moment but as you you have had thoughts of suicide in the past and you're concerned they'll return could you think about making a safe plan? It's basically just making an agreement with yourself that you will do vertain things before you act.. There is more info about that here: http://au.reachout.com/make-your-own-safe-plan. Part of the plan could be to promise to call or webchat with Suicide Call Back Service before taking any action on suicidal thoughts.
It's really good that you are working this all through in your own mind and hop you keep at it and chatting about it here with us

Hi @shirtsleeves
Everyone is different, but for me personally, no matter how much I was getting paid I couldn't stick in a job I didn't love. I stuck in a job i didn't like for years and when I finally quit and got one doing something I loved I felt so much better (it was amazing not crying on the way to work everyday).
If you are studying full time you might be eligible for centrelink? That could help with the finacial burden? Studying full time would mean you would get qualified quicker and then be able to get a job in an industry you love quicker too! If you did decide to quit your job, I'd try to have one lined up first so you aren't left with nothing.
Such a hard decision but I'm sure you will make the right one. Good luck !!! :D

"I don't want it to stop. it's so nice not being depressed for once."
YES YES YES. That is what is so hard about bipolar - the highs can be so fantastic. I guess as tempting as it is to let it continue and to enjoy it, please take care of yourself. Tell your doctors (well done for doing it! Seriously amazing!!!), don't stop taking your medication. If you can manage the high and not let it get too out of control hopefully the crash won't be as severe.
It probably feels like it really sucks to have another diagnosis added to you. But you are pretty lucky. From memory the average time for a diagnosis for bipolar is 15 years. Knowing what it is means you can fight it and treat it better and that's great :) It's also great to know exactly what is 'wrong' with you.
You said your treatment probably won't change. You can work with your team to come up with tools to deal with the highs - that might be a change.
There are info sheets on here but Black Dog Institute also have heaps of stuff on bipoalr as well. Knowledge is power.
Take care :D
