Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I have been on the forums. It's good to be back! If you could have any animal as a pet, what is your dream pet?: I was lucky enough to go to Taronga Zoo right before the Covid-19 cascade of events started hitting us in Aus and the seals and sea lions became firm favourites of mine that day. Super cute water doggos! What TV show are you currently binge watching?: Community! What was your dream job when you were a child?: I wanted to be a doctor! For some time, I wanted to be a vet but doing work experience at a vet clinic during high school changed my perspective. At one point, I also wanted to be a breakfast television host (hahahaha) If you could ask any animal one question, what would it be?: What is on your mind when you're doing zoomies? Is cereal soup? Why or why not? No! It may be wet but it's nicer crispy!

Pizza is certainly one of the best things about life on this planet. I love pretty much any kind of pizza so long as it's free of red meat. I agree that pineapple on a pizza is fab.

If you were a flower, what type would you be and why? A peony, of course! If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be? Definitely the ability to fly... What's your favourite condiment? Ah probably tomato sauce :-) Whats your favourite saying? Can't say that I have a favourite saying... but "Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" comes to mind. What is cooler, Dinosaurs or Dragons? Dragons! Fire! Wings!

I was introduced to Welcome to Nightvale on Saturday night! My boyfriend's friend had a Welcome to Nightvale mug, which prompted them to play me the Pilot episode. Spooky but cool!

@N1ghtW1ng Thank you!! I'm just going to enjoy not having to do any uni work, and go to bed without an alarm set for tomorrow!!! These sound so mundane but I'm genuinely so happy with this arrangement.

EXAMS ARE DONE! YAAAY! I'm a bit worried that I wrote the wrong student number on my last exam, but I am rationally aware that this is just anxiety talking. Thank goodness that that's over! I vow never to let things snow ball the way I did this semester! Consistency, not cramming! Hang in there, everyone!

I was recently introduced to these chocolate cookies from the brand Greens.. I think they're called 'Drizzles'? Anyway, drool... I've eaten almost an entire packet today. Such is the exam period life, I suppose.

@AprilScarlet I also desperately wanted to be a vet! This dissipated when I did work experience at a vet clinic in year 10... The week was a continuous rollercoaster between complete and utter boredom (there are only so many desexing surgeries one can watch with interest), and devastation. I've never been so glad for a compuslory school related activity! Since then, I've wanted to become a doctor. It's super nice to hear that you're on track to fulfilling your ambition to become a psychologist!

I do vinyasa style yoga, and really enjoy it. I like that it flows, and that it's athletic. I find hatha style to be too meandering, and ashtanga style to be too regimented. I tried bikram once and found it to be agonising... That heat and humidity is just a bit too much. I'd be wary of bikram if you have a tendency for anxiety/panic... I don't have a tendecy for panic, but felt quite trapped in the room and could imagine becoming panicky if I dwelled on the trapped feeling. Vinyasa and I are a good fit! I take classes at my local gym. I've come across yogaglo.com though, and have been meaning to give it a go... they're a relatively affordable subscription online yoga class. I believe they have a free trial period if you want to give it a go! I personally find that practicing yoga by attending in-person classes is more fun, and less of a challenge in gaining a routine, but online might work really well for some!

@safari93 Neko Atsume is so cute! I feel a particular connection to Tubbs... This one is probably a bit left of field, but I am a Fitbit user, and greatly appreciate the accompanying app. I think it helps me get out of bed on days I'd rather hide from the world, and greatly aids my wellbeing by helping me generally be more active. The sleep tracking is also awesome.

It's definitely rare to find depictions of mental illness that are not overtly stigmatising, or romanticising... I'm not sure that even many documentaries or even memoirs qualify as being fair depictions, to be honest. One film that comes to mind as not being particularly offensive is Short Term 12... For those of us with Netflix, it can be found on there. Just be wary of themes of abuse, homelessness, self harm. I really enjoy this film.

Fantastic thread, @redhead! I find it to be really easy to lose sight of what we're aiming for in recovery. These affirmations are so helpful in indentifying what we might aim towards doing in our personal recoveries! Recovery is: learning what helps you gain, and maintain, wellness. Recovery is: finding glimmers of zest for life. Recovery is: moving from hopelessness to hope.

@May_ What works best for me is pushing myself to just make a start. Once the overwhelming task of starting has been surmounted, the task doesn't seem so impossible and dooming any longer. Your technique of using set times, and following them up with breaks, sounds a lot like the 'pomodoro' technique! Might be worth looking into that
