Hello @Sky_Hawk,
I can't add too much based on what the others have said, but I also think it is a great idea to check out the 'Spaces' on ReachOut. If you've got any concerns or questions that you want some answers with, there are some others on these spaces who may have similar concerns that questions that you have. It's great to see you want to connect with people who share some stuff in common with you.
If there's anything you're having trouble with, posting here on ReachOut is good to seek some guidance with others of common experiences or those who can give you some advice.
I hope you've enjoyed your new welcome on ReachOut!
@Sky_Hawk , heya and welcome to RO!!
It's great that you're looking to connect and chat with more queer/gay/lgbtq people! I'm a queer woman, and connecting with other queer people has been something that really helped me with coming to terms with my identity, and was also incredibly affirming too. It's something i'd definitely reccomend!
As @Olive_Penguin mentions, I've heard great things about Minus18 if you're looking to connect with people IRL. There's also plently of cool queer people here on RO too, so feel free to pop a post in the sexuality and identity section.
Would love to hear more from you/good luck! 💜
hey @Sky_Hawk!
queer woman here, completely understand wanting to find like minded people.
depending on what state you live in, there is a range of different LGBTQ+ youth groups that can provide online and in person connections, and can be a great way to make new friends. i know the organisation Minus18 has a list of LGBTQ social groups around the country, and i’ve attended social events in the past and it was a very comfortable environment.
ReachOut also has forums for sexuality and identity, so feel free to start a conversation there!
Good luck with your search!!
Thanks love appreciate it it's so great seeing and talking to other gay men and women and it makes me fell like jm really not alone meeting gays wise because it's surprisingly, hard to find people that are gay in real life and when i do it's great
Hey @Sky_Hawk
Welcome to the community! It's great to see new people over here 😄
It's awesome you want to make some new friends and there's definitely a warm commnunity here you can be a part of.
I'm also a gay guy so I'm happy to talk if you have an questions on being gay or lgbtq+ and there's the sexuality space on this site where other lgbtq+ people can offer support. Some other ways of finding queer community is looking for local lgbtq+ spaces which you can often find on places like facebook or meetup, although just be careful on whether the group is 18+ (since some groups tend to meet in places like bars) and it can be safer to go with a trusted adult or older friend when going to a new group. Another great way to find community and friends is to join clubs or groups that share a hobby or sport you're interested in.
Anywho, welcome again and feel free to post and comment in this community, there's even a games space where we have some more light-hearted fun. We're all here if you need some guidance on anything and if you need any support ❤️
Hey @Sky_Hawk ! It’s so great to meet you.
It’s really cool that you’re looking to connect with like-minded people. Finding friends and guidance can make a big difference, and it’s great that you’re putting yourself out there.
What sort of things do you like to do in your free time? Are you currently studying?
I personally enjoy reading and baking, as well as going to nice long walks in the sun. I am currently doing my postgraduate studies in psychology, which is a real challenge but something I am thoroughly enjoying.
There are many supportive communities and spaces where you can meet people who understand and share similar experiences, including in the identity/sexuality forum.
Just remember to stay safe and be yourself. Wishing you the best on your journey!
No im not currently studying but i like to draw and make art for friends and famlily and i also like baking sk it's cool that you like it to also i like to play games specifically the long dark on xbox but im looking to learn more about the gay community because km interested in joining a irl one or something like that so yeh i also like to watch youtube videos that are entertaining to eat to
