Help me find a new show to watch (or movie)
Hi everyone!
I am looking for a new show to watch but I am not easily convinced hahaha. Feel free to drop the name of your favourite show or movie below with some spoiler free reasons about why it is good and I should watch it.
I like dramas and comedies for tv shows especially (also a sucker for challenge shows like the mole or physical 100)
for movies i LOVE romcoms but any suggestions are welcome!

Hey @Catlover101
Bit late to the party but I'd recommend you watch 'Nobody Wants This' on Netflix. It's a rom-com tv show about a woman who falls for a Rabbi. I found it so funny and relatable and I feel it would be right up your alley 😍
Hi @Catlover101
I'm gonna keep this short and simple and recommend a film you've probably heard of that's on netflix right now. It's a serious movie about survivors guilt and dealing with PTSD and the characters and writings in the film is some of the best I've seen in a long while.
Godzilla minus one
HI @Catlover101
I love romcoms like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Blended, The Wedding Singer, etc... They're very romantic in bits but also super funny!
I watched Population 11 on Stan recently, which was super good. It's like a murder mystery type thing but it's got a lot of comedy in it. It was shot in WA. I love watching things filmed in Australia because it's way cooler to see movies/shows filmed in the country you live in.
I don't know how you feel about Korean dramas, but Crash Landing on You is a great romantic drama with some comedy in it from time to time.
The Great on Stan is also super funny, with some romance... (at times maybe too much romance...) But I"m loving it at the moment. It's actually addictive.
The movie "What we do in the shadows" about the vampires in NZ is really funny and really good. It's a mockumentary style one.
And the classic comedy shows such as Big B*ng Theory, Two and a Half Men, The Office, Brooklyn 99, Parks and Rec, IT Crowd, etc...
I have watched many of these suggestions which means they are good HAHA. I am adding crash landing on you to my list right now. I love what we do in the shadows its such a good relaxation flick. Thank you so much fellow movie lover!
The Umbrella Academy is my special interest, so I have to recommend that!
It's both a drama and a comedy. It has a canonical pan guy and a transguy. It's about extremely dysfunctional siblings that were supposed to be "superheroes" when they were kids but they all have childhood trauma and just aren't doing great as adults, and part of the reason some of them are dysfunctional is because of their powers. I love their dynamics and all of the characters, just augh the psychology is 🤌
I LOVE things I can psychologically analyse. Adding this to the list
I will always recommend the classic 90s/00s Brit romcoms (e.g., Bridget Jones's Diary, Notting Hill, Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral) even if they're staples because they Always deserve a rewatch! Just the most comfort, giggles, lovey-dovey mush, and nostalgia lol.
As for TV shows I am also notoriously hard to convince! But one I breezed through twice recently was the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders series on Netflix - it's kind of a challenge/competition show since the girls compete for spots on the team so that might be up your alley! I just found it to be a really cool insight into the good & bad bits of that industry.
I have seen literally all those movies and LOOOVE them. Dallas cowboys keeps coming up on my recommended so maybe its time..

I watched Population 11 on Stan recently, which was super good. It's like a murder mystery type thing I guess, but it's got lots of comedy. It was shot in the Kimberly in Australia, WA. I love watching things filmed in Australia because it's way cooler to see movies/shows done where you live as opposed to other countries.
I don't know how you feel about Korean dramas, but Crash Landing on You is a great romantic drama with some comedy in it.
The Great on Stan is also super funny, with some romance... (at times maybe too much... 'romance'). But I'm loving it at the moment.

Hey Catlover101!!
I mainly watch more action shows like Peaky Blinders and House of the Dragon. Though a good chill show would be Emily in Paris. Although I haven't watched it, I've heard that Hitman is actually quite a good dark comedy show. It's about a man who works a side gig at the police department and out of a weird turn of events, ends up as a field agent. I've only heard good things about it so would recommend as something easy to watch!
Some good movies which are more or less classics are Clueless, the devil wears prada and mamma mia. I'm sure you've already watched these but a rewatch is always fun!
I literally rewatched devil wears prada last week its so iconic. I also currently have a watch party group for house of the dragons HAHA. I will add the hitman though comedy is my fave
Hey there @Catlover101
This is a bit of basic suggestion but I am loving the Netflix show "Bridgerton" right now. It has a lot of romance and a few iconic and funny momemts. It is set in the Regency period in Britain and is a good show if you love gossip and drama.
A good romcom that I love is Crazy Rich Asians, which is about Rachel Chu flying to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family. It has amazing Asian representation and is literally about Asian people who are crazy rich hehe.
Also, I think if you like Physical 100, you'd like Siren: Survive the Island. It's a Korean Reality TV Show that involves women from different professions (police, firefighters etc) to team up and survive on a remote island. It's hella entertaining and the women on the show are so talented!
I hope you end up liking some of my suggestions!
I have all of Bridgerton and I LOVE. I will definitely try Siren survive the island that sounds right up my alley! Thank you so much!
Also crazy rich asians is literally one of my fave movies ever I want a wedding like that 😭
Hi Catlover101
Personally I prefer dogs, but to each their own!
I think right now, The Bear has me hooked, but chances are you've maybe seen it already? I really can't explain why I'm hooked on it other than when I put it on it's something I actually watch. Nowadays, I usually put something on to watch and then find myself doing other things, but with The Bear my eyes are glued. I also remember watching one of the episodes and then all of a sudden it finished. What felt like only 5 minutes was actually a 30-40 minute episode. I might also have a soft spot for the show since I've worked in hospitality before, definitely not to the same extreme as in the show, but they capture it so well.
OMG, I could NOT watch The Bear. I heard so many good things about it but I couldn't stand how much they yell and scream at each other. I am fine with swearing, that wasn't an issue, but I think I found myself getting triggered by all the yelling hahahaha.
Really?!?! I tried the bear with my partner a little while ago and I found the first episode boring and I was so uninterested 😫 But my partner LOOOOVED it and has now finished it without me hahaha. Maybe I will give it another episode to see if it can get me locked in
Yeah, idk I guess it isn't for everyone, but as someone with a little bit of that experience lived, it's definitely been crafted so well. The kitchen can get super chaotic and tense sometimes. I do still recommend it though.
If your looking for something a little less shouty, then maybe give The White Lotus a go. That series was so confusing but so captivating when I first watched it. Took me a couple episodes to really get into it. White Lotus sits on my like top 3 all time tv shows.
