Study Blues

Hey everyone! 🙂

With Christmas over and the holidays coming to an end, I'm on the verge of heading into my second semester of study (Yay!) So here's a question for my fellow textbook gobblers, do you have an tips for getting into that dreaded study mode, (being motivated again, getting into routine, etc.)  after having been away on holidays for 8 weeks?

See yas in the new semester! 🙂

Hi @Masquerade_HS@Masquerade_HS !

I have a lot tips because being motivated is something I really struggled with and only recently have found practices that really work for me.

  • I love envisioning my dream career or imagining how acomplished and happy I will feel when I get good grades to really motivate me and I feel really energised when focusing on my dream life
  • Planning my study session or week really reduces the overwhelm for me
  • I also have motivating quotes on my notes app and I really love watching 'study with me' videos on youtube whilst im studying
  • Going to the library also really works for me as it stops me from lazing around knowing others are around me
  • Its also important for me to have an energising morning routine before long study periods so I like to meditate or exercise before 🙂

I hope some of this is useful 😊And its so amazing that you're nearly graduated! Is there a reason you decided on aged care (that you dont mind sharing)?

Hi @WinterCalvino

Thankyou so much for the amazing tips! I'll definitely be equipping them for my next study boss battle 😄 To be honest, initially I started studying to be a nurse. But after realising I had bitten off A LOT more than I could chew, I decided to study Aged Care as a second best option. I love helping people, so even though I will admit I'm not insanely passionate about this field yet, the hope is I'll fall in love with it 😃 What about you? What are you studying? (If you don't mind sharing that is)

Congratulations on starting your second semester @Masquerade_HS - what are you studying?

I've never been too great at study, so probably not the best person to give advice! lol

But we have some articles about study on our website if you're interested in taking a look. 😃

Hey @Philippa-RO

Thank you! And honestly, study is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new things, but it is 100% definitely not for everyone. Just when ya think due dates are a school only thing, boom, they poke their hideous faces up again 😖😆

I'm studying aged care currently with the hope of maybe expanding into nursing. It's been one heck of a ride but with only 6 months left the finish line is in sight. Also thankyou for the website recommendation, I'll be sure to check it out 😄

Welcome back!
