Getting Things Done

Heya everyone - kinda new here??

I remember using this site ages ago, and, well, here I am again.
I know I'm capable of a lot - hell, I got A's in subjects I hated last term - but for some reason it's been really difficult to get my head down and start work. I'll have tons of free time on the weekend, and in my mind I'll think about studying/completing assignments, and how satisfied I'll be afterwards. But for some reason, during the day or after school I can never seem to focus or bring myself to do the work.

I seem to be incredibly efficient during night time though, and when at school I work relatively fine. Maybe it's the work environment? less light being received from outside is maybe keeping me a bit more focused? Bedroom too comfy? Not sure.

Eventually the work from multiple places stacks up and I can never seem to get everything done. Is there some way someone can help?

Hi @chaonamon and welcome back to the forums! 😀

I'm really sorry to hear you've been finding it so hard to focus on study.
It's been a really stressful couple of years and I know quite a few young people who have talked about feeling pretty burnt out with their studies recently - you're definitely not alone.

Do you feel like some new strategies for managing study stress would help at all? There are some articles here, here and here about exam stress that might have some helpful tips for studying in general if that's useful.

I'm also wondering if there's anyone you could talk to for ideas on how to make study less stressful?
If it's all a bit much right now, that's completely okay too - is there a teacher you trust or a counsellor at school you might be able to talk to to get some space from the work if you think that would be helpful?

Welcome back!
