Seven more (slow and unpleasurable) weeks
TW - swearing
term 3 has always been a shit term and assessments haven't gone too well this term, been burning out and worrying if I've been underprepared for them. I do and don't want to get my scores knowing they will demotivate me, i just want swotvac to come. spend more time with friends who have switched schools and actually share mutual interests with me (and also empathise with me)
how the fuck am i supposed to miss my classes if I don't share them with my close friends, what did I spent the last 5 years here for then? I just want the term to be over, the highs most certainly don't outweight the lows. considering how slow they are at marking our assessments i cant justify the workload teachers allocate my social life sucks cant even catchup with people who can be fucked freeing up their time for me. z
cant wait to leave this cycle of school tutoring homework gaming, cant stand being surrounded by people who bring it on themselves

Hello @yeah_it_tahtperson
Sounds like you are having quite a rough time at the moment, especially since everything doesn’t seem to be going well for you at the moment.
Personally, I feel you as well, as I’m doing a Honour Thesis at the moment and that has more or less taken up a considerable amount of my energy, which has often time been very much draining.
While I feel like while it is very chaotic, I find it helpful to disconnect from the work at hand and engage in something else ( this includes any sort of hobbies or even sometime as simple as a treat or a walk). This normally re-coordinate my perspectives, and allow me to be more rational of what is to come.
In any case, as mentioned by @Mindful_Dreamer, it feel like it would be good to reach out to your school counselor as well, to see if they could give you some advice or insight that could be useful for you.
As mentioned by @Mindful_Dreamer as well, it might be worthwhile to try to engage with some friends you might have in your current school if there is a possibility to do so, People could often seem distant when they are all having the difficult priorities, so as mentioned by @Mindful_Dreamer, definitely worthwhile striking a conversation to see how it goes.
In any case, I hope this was of help and if you need any more advice, tips or support, do feel free to reach out again.
Hi yeah_it_tahtperson,
Thank you for coming on here and sharing your feelings with us, and welcome to our community!
First of all, I can relate to the study stress, I am at tafe studying a diploma and the workload can be intense. Sometimes though you tend to overthink your work and your value in assessments, I have found that all the times I was overthinking and dwelling if I pass or not, if I make it through or not, at the end I got through it and 99% I passed and if I didn't there was always another chance for me to try again.
Have you tried talking to a school counsellor before? Or to your teachers about what you are going through right now, maybe they can help you through it. You would be surprised.
In terms of friendships, do you have any friends at your current school? During school people can get busy and caught up with life so it can cause a bit of distance, it's always good to try and maybe talk to them directly about your friendship and that can help.
There are always people out there who will value being your friend so don't lose hope 😊 and we are always here for you, think of this community as your virtual friends 🥰
I hope this helped you a bit, and I would love to learn more about what you have tried in the past to deal with study stress.
I look forward in hearing from you soon! Take care and stay safe 💜
