Is there something you wished people would talk more about when it comes to being an 'adult'? That it's okay not to know something, and that you don't have to figure out everything out by yourself, that's not what being an adult is :) pretty much what everyone's been saying tonight pretty much Also that it's super worth asking for help (of any kind) when you need it, not waiting until you think it's absolutely necessary bc things can be resolved/improved earlier, idk if that makes sense

What are common challenges adults come across and how do you deal with it? Do you have any tips for managing life stressors that come with growing up? Making mistakes and having to keep on keeping on. It's hard to learn from things you regret, but i guess it means there's something to be got out of something you're not proud of or are embarassed about?

What are you looking forward to about becoming an adult or do you appreciate in adulthood? I appreciate the independance, I also have been coming to the realisation that i don't have to give up certain parts of my personality or interests, or change into someone super different in order to be mature, which is really nice :) @featuringme you got me! :P I've had mad cravings to reread it recently, so i should take it as a sign ;) @Saltwaterdreamtime that sounds daunting as anything, having to make such a huge transition so quickly :(

What is an 'adult'? What do adults do? Do you consider yourself one? i guess adulthood is kind of a mixture of maturity and responsibility? but then again these things come at different stages for different people so it's hard to define! i'm like you @WheresMySquishy , sometimes i'm an adult...but only sometimes :P @Saltwaterdreamtime accountability is good way of putting it!! @sunnygirl606 love the last one! :P

I really agree with what you said @Bre-RO ! Anger is a fundamentally human experience and we all experience it in different ways. I think sitting with things like anger and trying to figure out why we're feeling this way is super valuable because it lets you figure out what else your brain is ticking over. For example, sometimes you get angry really easily because you're stressed or tired, and so dealing with those things can help address the anger you're feeling :) What are everyone else's thoughts?

Weekly Wellbeing: Habits Hey guys! Time for another Weekly Wellbeing activity :D For this one, we thought we'd take the time to reflect on some of our habits :) If you google habits, aside from getting a lot of pictures of nuns you also get this definition: "a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up." Which is what most of us think of when we see the word habit. But this definition focuses on the neutral-negative side of habits, and doesn't mention the way in which we can purposefully build positive habits to improve our wellbeing! :D Even a habit as small as automatically drinking a glass of water when you wake up can have an impact on your mood and wellbeing (even in tiny ways :) ) So for this week, there's three activities :D 1. Are there any habits you have that you feel don't add positively to your wellbeing? Are there any ways to change these? 2. Is there anything you want to incorporate into your routine? How might they be beneficial? What steps can you take to make this happen? 3. Do you have a random habit that isn't positive or negative, but you always do? e.g. some people always have the correct earphone in the right ear, or always bite the head off a chocolate frog first etc. :D Have a great week!

Hey guys! :D Starting tomorrow the 21st of September, we're going to be running a week long chat about coping with study stress! I know for a lot of people studying right now, this time of the year is starting to get super busy with assignments and in the lead up to exams. A lot of people are still online for the most part as well, which can still be pretty up and down in a lot of ways :( So each weekday we'll be posting a question about studying and managing the related stresses that come with it, so that we can share our experiences and any tips we have :D I f at all you find this conversation distressing or you feel like you need to talk to someone about any issue then you can also call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800 or use their webchat and email services found on their respective sites. The links can be found here . If you are new here then welcome! Have a quick peek at our community guidelines you can find them here ! We'll be kicking this chat off tomorrow! See you then!

Weekly Wellbeing: What interests you? Hey guys! :D Time for another Weekly Wellbeing activity! For this activity I thought it could be super wholesome to share random things that make us happy or that we find interesting :) It could be a book series you love that no one else you know has read, a period in history you know lots of trivia about, or an article you found on a Wikipedia spiral at 3am :P Whatever it is, this is a space to just have a bit of a rant about a certain fact or topic and just have a bit of fun talking with each other about it :D For example: Snails have thousands of super tiny teeth. Why so many?!? That's so disconcerting

Weekly Wellbeing: Small changes Hey guys! Time for another Weekly Wellbeing activity! :D A lot of the time we tend to focus on big changes that are occurring in our lives or that we want to see happen. Things like getting fit, changing jobs, and all the other things we like to put on our list of New Year's Resolutions :P What's also really powerful though, is the impact that even tiny changes can have on your headspace! If you're tired or stressed big changes can sometimes take a back burner. But if you're stuck in a rut, a small change to your routine or environment can make you feel less blergh - even if just a little bit! Random examples off the top of my head: - having a big glass of water/juice - opening your blinds etc. in the morning (the light- it burns!! 🧛♀️🧛♂️) - changing your sheets! (i did this yesterday and i went to bed at 8:30 i was so excited about it) - checking the news less frequently - decluttering your study/workspace - lighting a scented candle? i'm hitting a wall guys but you get the idea :P Pretty much, if it takes less than 5 mins and usually makes you feel just that little bit better then it's worth giving it a shot when you're feeling a bit crappy! :) So for this week: 1. What's something that doesn't take a lot of time, but that makes you feel better? :) 2. Is there a small change you can make this week (or even right now!), feel free to share any ideas in this thread!
