Hey @TB_99, Felling homesick is completely normal when you are away. I remember when I went on a school trip in year 10 and I felt homesick even though it was only a week! For me, it mainly happened when I wasn't busy and it went away when I was out doing stuff. So maybe you could try being busy whenever you start to feel homesick? Are you on exchange with anyone else from Australia? Maybe talking to them about how you are feeling could help, as I'm sure they are feeling the same way. Hope this helps! :)

Hi @YunoGasai, Sorry to hear you are receiving these kinds of messages from your mum. She definitely shouldn't be making you feel like that. As @missep said, maybe you could try talking to her about how she is making you feel. Or if that isn't an option for you maybe you could block your mum on facebook so she can't send you messages anymore and you can still keep in contact with your other friends?

I live in Tassie and I stumbled across RO while looking online for volunteering opportunities. I had never heard about it before that so I think some extra advertising may be needed!

Hey @peacelovepizza, I love to go outside on short walks as a way to destress and relax on a break. Even just sitting outside and getting some sun would help after being stuck in the lab all day! :)

@litgym I have been using the moodpath app for the last few days and I really like how you can keep track of how you are feeling across the day/week!

Do you have any goals for 2019? Why have you chosen those goals? My main goal for 2019 is to focus more on myself and my wellbeing. I'm aiming to exercise more and spend more time doing things that I love (reading, spending time with friends and family) while I am on a break from uni! I think while I was studying I forgot to do things that I love often, so I am aiming to get back to those things!

Hey @YunoGasai, That sounds like a really tough situation. I can relate to getting unwanted gifts from people you don't want to know. Is there anywhere you could donate the jewellery? Or maybe you have some friends who might like it? Have you considered talking to your aunty about how you feel? Maybe she would back off if she knew how you were feeling about the situation. Hope this helps!

Hi @Rim, I think you handled the situation directly and that's the best approach in these kinds of situations. It was your friends who handled it badly. If you feel up to it, maybe you could try talking to them again about the whole situation and try to get them to explain their side? Do you have any other friends that you could hang out with instead? I hope things work out for you!

Hey everyone! I do enjoy the holidays, mainly spending time with family and friends! It can get quite stressful though as it is a busy time and I work in retail, so work gets quite stressful as well.

Hey @Dleehy2002, It's great that you decided to go on camp and had a great time! It seemed like it was a big step for you. It's okay to sit out activities that you feel uncomfortable about. Maybe it can be something you think about giving a go the next time you go on camp as you would know what to expect now. It sounds like you are feeling more anxious since being back home? Are there any things that you do to help calm you down when you feel like this?

Hey @Dleehy2002, It can be really tough to do things that are out of your comfort zone but can also be really rewarding when you do attempt them! Is there any option for you to go to the camp but not attempt the activities that will make you really anxious? I remember my high school camp was super fun but our teachers did not make us attempt things that we didn't want to. I remember sitting out the abseiling as I was scared of heights at the time! Maybe you could talk to one of the teachers involved about your concerns and then make a decision about whether you would feel comfortable going?

@Bee, christmas is the worst time to work retail!! Have you started your Christmas shopping? I have actually finished as of yesterday! For those who have finished your Christmas shopping what is your secret? I always start shopping early. I also try to take advantage of the sales that happen around that time to get most of my pressies! I find that getting it all done early makes me feel waaaay less stressed about Christmas in general :P Is there anyone you struggle with buying gifts for? All my family are super hard to buy gifts for. I usually start trying to catch hints really early in the year about what they might like to make it easier but it is still usually really hard!!

What a great idea @Libellule I used to not deal with rejection at all. I would just sort of pretend everything was fine even though I wasn't feeling great about it. But I have learnt to deal with it directly and talk to the person about it. Sometimes there is no intention to make you feel that way so I think it is important to talk it through!

Hey @lizmitch, It seems like you are really close with your parents so I'm sure they won't mind chatting with you all the time. In fact, they will probably miss you as much as you miss them! Have you started thinking about decorating? It is so much fun to finally be able to decorate your own place! :)

Hey @lizmitch Congrats on moving out of home for the first time! I think this is a pretty common issue and everyone would feel some anxiety about moving away from their family! I think it will be hard being away from your family at first but with all the technology now (skype, facetime) you will be able to have face to face conversations all the time! :) You also have your boyfriend to support you! Good luck with your move and keep us updated! :)

Hey @zen49, It's great that you are putting a lot of thought into your future! Like @Libellule said I think you need to have completed at least a 4 year psychology course (including honours) to be eligible for any psychology masters programs. I'm not sure if this extends to all universities so it would be worth having a chat with a course counsellor or even someone in the psychology faculty at your university to see what the requirements would be for you! Hope this is of some help! :)
