@Milkninja222 I don't nap much at all either but doing so when out camping in nature would be awesome! Children's day in Australia! Instead of fathers and mothers day, the kids are celebrated and get the pressies hehe :D What is the scariest horror movie you've seen?

Today I'm grateful for being able to just lie in bed after waking up in the morning, not having to go to work or have anything on, but to just be able to let myself rest felt amazing :)

Hey @gmusicj, I agree 100% with @WheresMySquishy in that I also see you as a survivor over a victim! The fact that you are still here means you have fought, have survived and are STILL surviving whatever has happened in your past and you reaching out here for support is honestly amazing to see. Reaching out for help I think is one of the hardest things to do that requires immense strength and that is something you have done here and with both your psychologist AND counselor. Personally I think something else that differentiates you from a victim is that instead of merely focusing on all the bad things and doing nothing about it, you are actively trying to get better by asking for help and still persevering despite everything. To me that is more than a survivor and it is so respectful to see <3 Do you think you could talk to your psychologist about how you're having trouble seeing yourself as a survivor rather than as a victim?

Oh wow @Hozzles that is definitely impressive! Did you remember it all?! @xXLexi_Lou122Xx hahaha I used to want to be one as a kid!! It's also good because if you stop halfway and can't teach a concept well just like you're teaching a class, then you know you need to revise that concept! :P

Yes @xXLexi_Lou122Xx I agree it definitely takes some time to settle in for me too! @ecla34 Yes I do!! Hahaha I actually find talking to myself out loud and pretending like I'm teaching the content to a class actually works so well for me when studying!

2. How long do you typically study for before you lose motivation? What makes you lose motivation? I've never been great with attention, it's always been something I've struggled with as I literally lose focus mid-sentence and get up for ages before sitting back down and do the same thing LOL although I have slowly improved over the years so it's not as bad anymore! I think I lose motivation easiest if the content I'm studying is boring to me or is very dry

@ecla34 A few of my fav quotes that get me motivated are so simple but so true and do the trick! Here's a few :D 'The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do.' 'Always remember, your focus determines your reality.' 'If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.' That's a great idea @WheresMySquishy ! Maybe even writing it on our phones would be awesome so you have it anywhere you go!

1. What are some of your favourite resources for studying and improving motivation? I like to read quotes as I think they motivate me to work hard always! I have a quote book from kikki k someone got for me a few years back but I find it still does the trick! What do you do when you need a quick motivation boost? I will watch those short little motivation videos you can find on youtube or facebook etc. I find they work so well in pumping me up or getting me out of a slumpy mood! My favourites are people like Trent Shelton and Jay Shetty! Who is someone that inspires you to work hard? I had a friend from a while back and although we don't talk anymore, the way that I saw how hard he worked always inspired me so much and to this day still does. His work ethic just blew me away as I've never met anyone who works as hard as that and yet he still has enough time to see friends all the time and go out! He never would give in to any excuse even when he didn't want to work and would even do all nighters all the time if it meant he got his work done to his best standard!

Hi @Itsnotimportant! Firstly I just want to say I am really glad and so proud of you for speaking about what happened. I understand it can feel so scary or we may feel embarrassed to speak about our own experiences but I think it actually is so brave and admirable of you to do so! I am sure it will also help encourage others who are just as scared! You can always trust us here and we are all here for you whenever you need to chat about anything at all! <3 I want to first emphasise that you are NEVER 'supposed' to like anything or feel a certain way. I understand how it may feel like we 'should' react certain ways to things and the media has definitely played a major role in that but I think we tend to forget that almost all the media exaggerates/distorts things. E.g. In movies generally schools have 3 stereotypes: nerds, jocks/cheerleaders and goths - but in reality this cannot be furthest from the truth as I'm sure you see yourself at school. There are soooo many more different types of people at school and most schools don't even have these cliques at all. Unfortunately, media in the past has focused on these things because it makes the movies more exciting when all we see is partying and sex. But in reality the people that engage in those sorts of behaviours are actually such a small proportion of people and that is just their own preferences on topics like sex etc. E.g. Some people might prefer to sleep with multiple people but others might only prefer to sleep with people they are in a relationship with. It is a personal preference just like coca cola or sprite. However, any sexual interaction should ALWAYS be consensual on BOTH sides. There is nothing wrong with you, there is no way you 'should' have responded or felt EXCEPT for what YOU wanted to do and how ACTUALLY felt. I think she definitely crossed a line with you, because even if she didn't pick up on you feeling nervous and think to ask whether you were also keen on doing things (which is always the best way to go about it), when you stopped that was 100% clear you did not want to continue. I think she may have then called you those things because she herself was embarrassed and felt rejected, so she may have done that to protect herself but that was also in no way right. You are not a wuss for choosing to turn down anything, I know myself, my friends etc have turned down encounters many times and this was simply because we were not interested or did not want to do anything in that moment. It doesn't make us any less of a person or any less 'cool'. A person should ALWAYS respect your decision as it is YOUR choice because it is YOUR body. Anything less is not okay. So I hope this helps you in knowing that it wasn't you and that she crossed a line. I am sorry to hear what has happened to you, I just wanted to check and make sure also if you are doing okay with this on your shoulders?

That is such a great quality to have @WheresMySquishy ! Definitely would consider it a superpower because a lot of times what people really need is the truth, even if it is hard to handle somtimes that is the best thing you can do for them! :) I couldn't agree more @xXLexi_Lou122Xx, that definitely sounds like a superpower that is hard to come across! The people in your life are so lucky to have someone like you and I can definitely see this power of yours from just the forums :D What is your Superpower? I think one of my greatest powers would be my ability to lighten up the mood with jokes and my goofiness. It is my ability to see the funny side to every situation but also be able to stop and have a serious conversation when needed. When was a time you rescued someone with your Superpower? I think often when my friends are going through a tough time or are having a bad day, I will go over and see them and talk about things before cheering them up and helping them forget the bad things that are happening simply by being my jokey and goofy self! It may feel weird to talk about the things we say we are good at but I think it is so important to be able to self-reflect and acknowledge the things we are actually really good at! (Just like we would in a friend)

Hey @Saltwaterdreamtime, I just want to say that I'm so sorry for what you have had to go through growing up and also with this recent event. I do understand how disheartening and heartbreaking that can feel, my relationship with my mum and family sounds very similar and so hearing your story makes me just want to help although I also understand that it is something not I can help with in a way. I do not think you are too old for this stuff either, it is completely understandable you would feel like this as I'm sure after all the things you have endured growing up till now, deciding to see her again would have been a huge and difficult decision and you may have been hoping that it would be the time things finally changed, so of course it would feel heartbreaking to have her act the same sort of way she always has. I am sorry that is the way things turned out, you must feel a mix of emotions of hurt, anger etc and it sucks so bad that is how she acted but I think that @Maddy-RO is right in that all we can do is try. All we can change is our behaviour and our attitude/mindset towards things but that is all we have control over. It sounds like she may act the way she does as a result of her own issues/upbringing and that is no excuse to treat you like that, but that is something she needs to work on and not something you can change. I'm proud of you for giving it another chance and maybe that may help settle things for a while now since you know you have done all you could for now. And in the future it will be up to you whether you want to give her another chance but I also want to say that I can see you are such a compassionate person that you still care for her despite everything. And I know that makes it even harder for you but your brother, friends, family and her (even though she may not know it now) are so so lucky to have someone like that in their lives! We are always here if you want to chat more about these things <3

Hey @Bananatime04 I was just reading some of the posts and want to firstly say you never have to apologise at all for what you are feeling because there is nothing to apologise for! You are 100% ALWAYS allowed to feel (negative) emotions as it is only human and express them or talk about them, but that does not mean YOU are being negative at all! From what I can see from these last few posts, even though you are feeling down and going through a tough time, you are still in fact being positive! You're sill trying apps suggested, looking at links suggested by others and when it was raining you were optimistic about that helping you sleep! I understand how hard and exhausting it can feel so despite everything you are still trying your best to improve things and to have a positive outlook and that is already very admirable! Especially when you are feeling down, it can be easier to see other things in a positive light but then when we viewing ourselves we suddenly shine a negative light instead (kind of like a snapchat filter). So it's not fair to ourselves to then compare the 2 pictures when they were taken with 2 complete different filters, meaning they will already without a doubt be very different no matter what picture is taken. So try your best to sometimes take a step back and give yourself credit for the things you have done or are doing great considering the circumstances! (the same way you would commend a friend if you saw them doing the same things) I can definitely see your determination and perseverance and I hope that you are able to recognise these things too alongside your other accomplishments and strengths in your character because it is truly amazing to see! I hope you got a better sleep last night <3

That's great that you're trying to stay positive about getting through these feelings @xXLexi_Lou122Xx! It really helps the healing process a lot too, it's hard to know just when these feelings will go away or not be as bad but I think the best way to go about it is when we try our best to not focus on the timeline or think about how long it's been and how long to go, but when we are so focused on trying to improve ourselves mentally and other small aspects of our lives that one day we wake up and actually realise we haven't been feeling like that for a while now! I'm sorry to hear about you passing out and the possible health conditions you are worrying about, that does sound really scary :( I think @Maddy-RO is so right in that technology and treatments are advancing so mindblowingly quick that it's amazing to see how much of a normal life many people with different conditions are able to live. Also I agree that in such cases it is so so hard for our minds not to go to the worst case possible, but I think it can help so much when we try our best to not think about anything more than the facts we currently know! For example try looking back on 1 time when you thought something was going to happen and then something completely different happened! These things can happen daily with even little things and we realise after that we assumed the worst and the outcome turned out so far off from what we thought! Usually in most cases I find the worst outcome actually has the smallest chance of happening and everything being okay is much more likely! But overall, I find trying to keep in this positive mindset helps a lot because I realise there is nothing I can do before the outcome is known and putting myself through that stress the days or weeks before I end up regretting because I could have enjoyed that time doing other things! Do you think this might help you too? And try not googling things!! Hope today has been better xx

It sounds like you've had a huge amount on your plate @mrmusic, but it also sounds like you've been handling every single one of these situations and viewing them in the best way possible! That is very inspiring to see! Also here if you ever feel like you want to talk about it :) Negative: I wanted to have my resume done and have found a job by now as I have finished uni 1 month ago. Positive: I have graduated after 5 years in uni so it has been nice and I think healthy actually letting myself having a break finally and being able to relax :)

Hey @xXLexi_Lou122Xx , I'm sorry to hear how you've been feeling :( I remember feeling like that before and it was honestly one of the hardest things to get through but know how strong you really are for still fighting and trying! I know how hard that can be and it can be hard to feel proud of yourself too but you really should be because it is an amazing thing. I know one day you will feel okay in your own arms and even better than okay <3 Just wanted to say hi and check in though and see how your day has been going? :)
